Help with interpretation of recent CT scan please

Hello

I have recently (28 April 2022) had a CT scan with contrast to check for evidence of disease following my diagnosis of ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer in November 2021.

The purpose of the CT scan was an end of treatment scan before moving me onto three monthly monitoring with blood tests.

The CT scan concludes by saying:

No evidence of residual or recurrent disease on this study.

The above conclusion is of course reassuring to read however on reading through a copy of the CT scan report I would be grateful with people's thoughts on the following and with helping me to understand what it actually means and if this needs to be followed up? I am 49 years old and have been taking levothyroxine since the age of about 29 years. I am currently taking 100 mcg.

'No enlarged thoracic lymph nodes. Small nodular partially calcified areas in the anterior mediastinum (4.17, 19) are likely related to thyroid tissue.'

Thank you for any help with interpreting the above and what action, if any, I need to take.

My husband who's a radiographer says, it means there are some abnormalities but no disease. ie, you have some calcification on the thyroid, but not necessary related to your previous issue.

( Its quite common for people with thyroid issues to have some calcification ).

I'm sure admin will give you some guidance on that.

Thank you bagpuss61 for your helpful reply.

Regarding these abnormalities and whilst I agree they do not seem to be related to my ovarian cancer I was wondering for my own peace of mind how can I be sure they are not a separate cancer?

I'm not sure how to get admin's attention on here for guidance?

They would have picked that up in the scan, after all that's what they were checking for.

You're right of course I didn't think of that, thank you. I'm going to blame my silly question on chemo brain as I had my hopefully last treatment today.
