CT scan : I just had a ct scan of my abdomen... - Thyroid UK
CT scan
I had a CT scan in the summer, with this iodine injection and suffered badly afterwards. It seemed as though medication was not getting to my cells. I felt off colour for about two weeks and it also made me want to go to the loo more frequently, which is still the case. I vowed never to have the iodine again. If you check on Google, you will see many people have had problems. Do hope you have no side effects at all. I am sure not everyone is so sensitive but of course not everyone is on thyroid medication.
Thanks Hennerton I hope it does not effect me but I'm having hot flushes all evening. The reason I had it was because I've been having issues with my bladder it was due to overmedication things have settled greatly with my bladder I really hope this does not set it off again. I have noticed that I'm definately using the bathroom more since this afternoon just my luck. Thanks for reply.
Yea I had a ct scan with injection and afterwards I was urinating a lot and bad nausea and diarrhea
I'm absolutely shattered today I feel like someone's drained the life out of me. Hope this goes away soon. It's taken me months to start feeling anyway normal and now this. Thanks for the reply
I reacted very badly after a CT with contrast medium, and had to take anti histamine tablets for the burning rash. The fact I was allergic to iodine was added to my notes.
At a recent CT scan, the tecnician said "drink this". I asked if it contained iodine as it looked like water. He said it did, and I pointed to my notes and said "I suggest you read those". He said he had but I was not that allergic, was I!!! He got right miffed when I refused to drink it, and the scan was cancelled! I had waited 24 weeks for the scan...
