Hi, everyone. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems with Hashimoto's or if the problems I'm experiencing are something else.
I've always had issues with excessive sweating of my hands, feet, amrpits, and groin area, and my hands and feet are frequently ice cold regardless of the room temperature or how the rest of my body feels. It doesn't matter how cold my hands and feet feel, they will continue to sweat which only makes them colder. The excessive sweating is often accompanied by kind of hot flash symptoms, though not exactly. I feel really hot in certain areas like my armpits, neck, and between my legs, but then my hands and feet are freezing and my skin feels cold. I usually avoid having air blown on me by a fan or whatever because my skin gets super cold by it, even if I feel hot on the inside. I also seem to have issues with circulation. My hands and feet go numb really fast if I go outside in the winter, even if its only like 50⁰ F. I even occasionally get episodes of Raynaud's disease like symptoms where a toe or patch of skin on my heel will turn completely white and go numb even if the rest of my body isn't cold. I always had the impression that my body doesn't know how to regulate its temperature or accurately detect its own temperature.
I thought this could somehow be related to Hashimoto's which I was diagnosed with 2 years ago, but I've had these problems all my life, and they don't seem to get any better with optimization of my thyroid levels. In fact, a lot of the symptoms go away if I get hypothyroid, and instead they're replaced by being cold all the time, but at least I'm dry.
Does anyone else have these problems with their thyroid disease, or have any suggestions as to what it could be?
