A few questions on latest results re: ERFA/Levo and lowish B12

I have been on a trial of ERFA and Levothyroxine for over a year now. Working with a private Endo to try and find a level that suits me. This is latest blood test after 6 weeks of taking 7.00am ERFA 45mg, Levo 25mcg

2.00pm ERFA 45mg (an increase of 15mg)

The Endo had also advised I increase the Levo in the morning by 25mcg but I decided not to as thought best to do one raise at a time.

My FT4 has increased from 14.6 even though I didn’t take the extra Levo, why would this be?

My FT3 is the highest it’s ever been.

I do feel better in many ways but I’m not sure what actually has done this!!

6 weeks ago I also started taking Thorne Basic 1 capsule daily and I also increased my Vit D to 3,000iu.

The Vit D is the highest I’ve ever had it and so is the folate which has always been on the low side.

I don’t understand why my Active B12 has dropped from 78.8 to 71.2 even though I have been supplementing with the Thorne B complex. Any thoughts on this would helpful.

How can I pin down what is actually improving my health? I still have constipation issues but my gut in general is much more stable. My energy is more even too.

Welcome your thoughts.

I'm placing my bets on the vit d and folate improvements that did it. Congrats on having your free t3 be at its highest.

Regarding constipation, you can always try taking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with the mother in a glass of water or a supplement that has digestive enzymes and betaine hcl. Probiotics are great in moving things along especially goat kefir and sauerkraut.

I've been following your journey so thanks for updating us.

Thanks Imaaan, for your interest and thoughts. I think you might be right about the Vit D and Folate increase. I will definitely try the Cider vinegar.

Do you or anyone else have an idea why my Active B12 should drop in the last 6 weeks even though I had started to supplement with 1 capsule daily of Thorne Basic b complex?

I'm not sure. Has your diet changed? Hopefully more experienced members with b12 knowledge can chime in. You can always post the question on the pernicious anemia forum since they have more experience with b12.

When do you eat lunch and when do you take the b12 and vit D3?

Yes good idea to ask PA forum.I take Vit D and Thorne bcomplex round 11.00/11.30 am. I have lunch 12.30/1.00pm sometimes later.

I think my diet is much the same.

Not what you're looking for?
