Graves, colds and sinusitis

Hi folks. I’m just wondering if anyone else has found it’s taken your body a lot longer to recover with colds and sinusitis while having graves, as well as being impacted more severely symptomatically?

I got a cold that lasted three weeks, then was okay for two days before getting sinusitis that’s now moving into its second week. I don’t ever remember being this unwell for this long before with a cold, and it’s my first time getting sinusitis. It just feels like my body is weighed down by lead with tiredness and the brain fog is too real. I would really appreciate hearing whether others find they experience something similar.

Presumably you tested for Covid?

When did you last test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What are your thyroid levels like?

I’ve had exactly this for over a week now. Very tired achy too. Started with headaches, then throat, then chest now sinuses. No mucus at all. Inflamed airways after sore throat initially. I’ve done 8 LF’s but all negative. I thought I may have covid at first. Seems not??! Interestingly though a couple of months ago I had a full blood count and my white blood cells and neutrophil cells where both abnormally low. I read up about this and found that people with graves or people on high doses of thyroxine can suffer from low white blood cells. Low white and neutrophil means that you struggle to fight off infections. I’m thinking this maybe happening to me. I’m getting another full blood count done next week as a follow up. It’ll be interesting to see what my white and neutrophil cells are now. Have you had a full blood count done recently. If low it can take a few weeks to creep back to normal levels.

Have you got Patient Access? If so, check your history on white and neutrophil cells in any FBC’s tests. If you haven’t got Patient Access this can be requested easily through your GP Surgery. We are all entitled to this information.
