lots of people report sinus issues with thyroid.

What are your results, you may be under medicated.

Are doctors going by TSH or have FT4 & FT3 been tested.

did you test as recommended?

What does GP/Lab usually test? TSH, FT4,FT3

Have you nutrient tested?

I have sinusitis & rhinitis and mange it using antihistamine & sprays.  Has anyone ever suggested an allergy may be contributing.?  Your doctor or your chemists might be able to suggest something. It may be your thyroid level is not right & also contributing.  If your GP suggest a change in dose which you don’t agree with start by getting the results & discussing what’s been tested and why decision.  If based on TSH and not FT4 & FT3 you can argue your case.Testing early in morning, delaying dose until after draw shows highest TSH & lowest FT4. Was this how your test was arranged? If Doctor not arranging a complete test there are private options.

Aside from hypothyroidism, reflux and gut dysbiosis can contribute to congestion. Also issues with histamine. The only things that have helped me a little are a thymus and kidney supplement. Also using Xlear nose spray. Both have a lot of reviews on Amazon.

other than your thyroid levels that are probably off, have you tried removing dairy from your diet? Dairy is a frequent culprit for sinus issues.

Years ago I had terrible sinus problems and pain and ended up having surgery to widen the spaces in my nose. That worked a treat and I've never had a problem since but I am now dairy & gluten free also.

What were your latest thyroid results with ranges? You likely do need an increase but will have to be persistent with your GP.

Have you recently had key vitamins checked - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Low levels of these mean our thyroid hormone doesn't work well. Hypo people don't absorb vitamins well due to low stomach acid.

Why ever did they send you to a Neurologist? You need an ENT surgeon. The operation I had was called functional sinus surgery. I did have a deviated septum that got straighted, they removed my turbonates and made some sinus space generally.

Facial massage and steaming always get the catarrh flowing out of my sinuses. It’s not pleasant to see but the relief is tremendous. It’s also fascinating to see how much gunk can be held in the sinuses, sometimes without the slightest inkling it’s there

I also use a neti pot filled with warm saline water to help get rid of some of the debris. If I do this once a week it prevents a build up and the resulting pain but do I ever? No, of course not mostly because when I’m not suffering with it I forget about it but if I get the tiniest sensation in my face I get out the towel and bowl and sit with my head over it for about 7-8 minutes taking deep breaths. This usually stops it from developing further
