Have you seen the specialist in ENT yet regarding your previous symptoms ?
I think I would still say the same as last time and i believe your struggle is trying to function on half a thyroid and not being prescribed any thyroid hormone replacement.
Thanks for the replyNo sadly not seen ENT re throat issues yet and to be honest not expecting that to happen any time soon due to back log, symptoms in throat have eased as far as pain but still red. Doctor said if symptoms worsened she could fast forward me.
Don’t know if ENT will look at these private results if I take them when I finally get to them so can only hope they will look further into my thyroid issues and thyroid related symptoms I suffer, taking the vitamins ect has helped
Well, I would ask for a referral to endocrinology - it will likely take just as long but you are hypothyroid and in my opinion need to be on thyroid hormone replacement.
A TSH over 3 will give rise to hypothyroid symptoms and in some countries you would be considered hypothyroid and given T4 - Levothyroxine.
The NHS used to routinely treat when the TSH rose to around 5 and now for some reason you have to struggle along as the guidelines have now changed and you need to score a TSH of 10 in order to be considered hypothyroid.
Maybe it's all about then qualifying for free prescriptions - who knows ??
It's quite ridiculous especially since you only have a part functioning gland :
