TSH rising as years go by

This test shows highest ever TSH

Having been taking vitamins ect since January test showed low results, list of what I was taking since and can see improved results.

Hello again :

Have you seen the specialist in ENT yet regarding your previous symptoms ?

I think I would still say the same as last time and i believe your struggle is trying to function on half a thyroid and not being prescribed any thyroid hormone replacement.

Thanks for the replyNo sadly not seen ENT re throat issues yet and to be honest not expecting that to happen any time soon due to back log, symptoms in throat have eased as far as pain but still red. Doctor said if symptoms worsened she could fast forward me.

Don’t know if ENT will look at these private results if I take them when I finally get to them so can only hope they will look further into my thyroid issues and thyroid related symptoms I suffer, taking the vitamins ect has helped

Well, I would ask for a referral to endocrinology - it will likely take just as long but you are hypothyroid and in my opinion need to be on thyroid hormone replacement.

A TSH over 3 will give rise to hypothyroid symptoms and in some countries you would be considered hypothyroid and given T4 - Levothyroxine.

The NHS used to routinely treat when the TSH rose to around 5 and now for some reason you have to struggle along as the guidelines have now changed and you need to score a TSH of 10 in order to be considered hypothyroid.

Maybe it's all about then qualifying for free prescriptions - who knows ??

It's quite ridiculous especially since you only have a part functioning gland :

Going forward

You only need to stop vitamin B complex a week before test

Don’t stop Vitamin D

During that week you might want to take a separate folate supplement and a separate B12 supplement

Eg Jarrow methyl folate and Jarrow sublingual B12

Vitamin D spray - is this the green 3000iu spray

betteryou.com/collections/v...

or the red one with vitamin K2 in

betteryou.com/collections/v...

Green one - one spray = 3000iu

Red one - 3 sprays = 3000iu

Optimal vitamin levels are

Vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better

B12 at least over 500

Folate at least half way through range

Hi thanks for replyThe vitamin D is the green one

I will continue on the vitamins then to get them higher

I take separate folate and B12 complex

You probably need a separate B12 as well

See what levels are like when next test having continued to take separate folate and separate B12 in the week running up to the test

Should see much higher levels

Vitamin D, again see what levels are like at next test, having not stopped supplements before test

Keep vitamins optimal, should see TSH increase so that you can get started on levothyroxine
