So here are my results from a few weeks ago. I tested in the morning only 9 hours after my NDT dose at 10.30pm, but held off on my morning dose until after the test. I know it should be 12 hours.
I take 1 Thyroid S before bed, and another when I wake up.
Since starting this dose 5 months ago my hair has grown better, I have a bit more energy, and my mood is good.
I do feel tired occasionally but my Vit D was low so I have been taking 4000iu of Vit D each morning.
Should I be concerned that my T4 is low in the range, and TSH very suppressed?

As I understand things this is how NDT expresses itself in a blood test :
You will likely have a low suppressed TSH :
You may well have a lower T4 than when on T4 monotherapy :
But you will have a higher T3 than when on T4 monotherapy :
So these results look pretty good to me :
Had you waited around 12 hours and / or eaten your T3 would likely have dropped a little and been in " in range " if that is a concern for you.
These blood tests and ranges were introduced to be used alongside Big Pharma's launch of their own T3 and T4 medications in the middle of the last century.
At that time NDT was the treatment of choice and was being used successfully and long before the ' science ' of the blood tests.
On building my dose of NDT I found my temperature rose from 35.4 to 36.6 where it still hovers today 4 years on.
I now just run a yearly full thyroid panel more to keep an eye on my vitamins and minerals as I find I still need to supplement all of these to support my thyroid hormone replacement.
Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function. There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7. One spray = 1000iu
supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial. This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too
Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right are recommended options that contains folate, but both are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
Thanks for this info. I’ve been taking the Vit D for around 5 weeks now, plus spring seems to have arrived so I’ll get it naturally over the Summer months.Sorry, I also take magnesium in the evening.
