Puzzling results. I feel great, doing really well, thank goodness. Never felt better, in fact it’s the best I have ever felt thyroid and otherwise.

Only change in medication drop of 6.25mcg in mid Dec and another 6.25mcg end of Dec. (That is from 175mcg to current 162.5mcg) But the results variation from possible hyper swing mentioned by greygoose to FT4 below 1% range! Has to be some rational reason !? Some guidance greatly appreciated.

If you swing up, it has to come down again. Seems pretty rational to me.

How long did you leave between the last dose of levo and the blood draw?

Do you take biotin?

Thank you greygoose. Hyper swing normalisation! Last dose 24 hours before, fasting, morning test. No b complex or biotin for 10 days.

That's probably what happened, yes. Although there could be other factors. Can you add back in what you reduced before? Then wait six weeks and retest. :)

Certainly, will increase 6.25mcg tomorrow morning & 6.25mcg again in say 7 days, back to 175mcg. Retest in 6 weeks. Thank you greygoose 😁

Hi greygoose , I thought I’d continue the related messages here. I increased Levo dosage by 6.25mcg (to 175mcg) for 7 days but had awful symptoms of palpitations, fogginess, fatigue, difficulty breathing. Then, dropped the extra 6.25mcg (so back to 162.5mcg) and felt better almost the very first day back to 162.5mcg. Now been over 10 days back at 162.5mcg and I feel perfect. Your thoughts very much appreciated.

As there are no blood test results for comparison, I can only think that you've now found your sweetspot, and long may it last! But, as you have Hashi's, be aware that there could be more swings to complicate things. :)

Wow the illusive sweet spot! Thank you Greygoose. I will probably test once or twice before my full term in around 10 weeks 😃 and hope the numbers come around to match the symptoms, although might not be the case till hormones settle some weeks after would you say …

There's no point in trying to match the numbers with the symptoms because there are so many variables. Some people have a TSH of 100 - meaning their Frees are very low - with no symptoms at all. Others have raging symptoms with a TSH of 2. The important thing is how you feel. If you don't feel right, then something is wrong. If you feel good, then the numbers don't mean very much.

That’s just brilliantly put. Fantastic, thank you greygoose 😆

For completeness purposes posting end of March 2022 results here to evidence the changes in lab tests post hyper swing and then swing down. Between Feb & March doesn’t show much difference in labs. As greygoose had stated “Some people have a TSH of 100 - meaning their Frees are very low - with no symptoms at all. ”

27 March 2022 - Levo 162.5mcg

(29 weeks pregnant)

FT3 4.5 (3.08-6.78) pmol/L

FT4 12.9 (12.87-20.59) pmol/L

FT3 : 38.38 % through range

FT4 : 0.39 % through range

20 February 2022 - Levo 162.5mcg

(24 weeks pregnant)

TSH 0.005 (0.27- 4.2) μIU/ml

FT3 4.8 (3.08-6.78) pmol/L

FT4 12.9 (12.87-20.59) pmol/L

FT3 : 46.49 % through range

FT4 : 0.39 % through range

Fascinating! My sweet spot reigns and that has made life and pregnancy just wonderful. Currently 36 weeks, doing so well. There’s zero possibilities of any endocrinologist ever unravelling anything here. Thank you everyone.

(All tests always early morning, 24 hours after last dose, fasting, & no biotin 5 days prior)

Well, your TSH is very low, and your Frees a very low. That just goes to show how useless the TSH test is!

I should imagine your FT4 is so low because the baby is taking it. And your stupid doctor should have been increasing your dose!

And, your FT3 is low because you are on T4 monotherapy and rely entirely on conversion for your T3, but there's not much T4 to convert.

You're right about not endo unravelling any of that, even though it's staring them in the face! It's just incredible that in 2022 they can be so ignorant!
