Hypo or sub clinical hyperthyroid? On metavive

I hope you can advise as I have parted company with my functional doc - Ive posted before but in summary I was on 100mg eutirox but didnt feel well. I was advised to change to metavive and have been on ever increasing doses as my ft3 and ft4 have been very low, arriving at 180mg porcine. My latest results are :

Tsh 0.02 ie surpressed? (0.55-4.78); ft3 3.55 (2.3-4.2); ft4 1.03 (0.89-1.76)

The ft3 and 4 have risen since last labs but tsh even lower than last (0.09)

Dies this mean i am sub clinical hyperthyroid now? Im confused and worried.

I have some fast heart rate occasionally but I feel hypothyroid - very low body temp, cold, but have lost weight. I think I should go back to 100mg eutirox (ive been on metavive since last May).

I would be so grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance

Tsh 0.02 ie surpressed? (0.55-4.78)

ft3 3.55 (2.3-4.2) 65.79%

ft4 1.03 (0.89-1.76) 16.09%

Yes, your TSH is suppressed, but that doesn't make you any sort of hyper. :) Your FT3 is quite good - although if you still have symptoms, obviously needs to be higher. Your FT4 is low, but the low TSH and FT4 are what one would expect with someone taking T3. That's what T3 does.

When one is hypo, one cannot become hyperthyroid, it just doesn't work like that. The thyroid cannot suddenly regenerate and start making excessive hormone. You can be over-medicated, though. But, you are not. You're only over-medicated if your FT3 is well over-range. And, yours isn't. :)

Ah thanks so much for your quick reply - I was getting anxious! In that case I will stick with the metavive. Im low in dheas, estrogen etc in menopause which might be causing similar symptoms...

Well, might be. But, it is often difficult to tell the difference between hypo and 'hyper'-type symptoms. :)

You could try adding a little T4 to your Metavive, say 25mcg to bring your FT4 up a bit to see if that makes you feel better.
