Hello I’ve been taking thyroid S for about a year and good results on it and I increased my dose in November for the winter by 1/4 grain .
Not been feeling right since Dec 21st after booster jab (could be co incidence) but rapid heart racing mind insomnia neck pain exhaustion etc and so I did a test recently 12 hours after split dose of 3.5 thyroid S to check .
FT3 is 7.5 range 3.1-6.8 so suspicions right.
So question is do I just reduce dose by quarter grain so stay on 3 1/4 and re test in 6 weeks or do I miss a dose then reduce by 1/4 grain ?

My FT3 has also risen since having my booster jab. I have tested twice sine booster, first test showed FT4 and FT3 higher than normal, second test two months later showed no further rise in FT4 but another rise in FT3. I take Levo plus T3. I have reduced my T3 a little and will retest in a couple of months.
Oh wierd it’s done the same as mine I think if I reduce by 1/4 tablet and then test in 6 weeks or not sure if to reduce by 1/2 tablet. How have you felt , could you tell something wasn’t right after etc or no symptoms?
If I were you I'd just reduce by 1/4 and see how that goes, you can always reduce by another quarter if necessary later on.
I didn't have symptoms, it was an experiment I just decided to do, see if the booster did anything to levels (first two jabs didn't and booster was different make).
SeasideSusie Was there a change in your TSH? Asking simply because anyone getting their test done through NHS is unlikely to get FT3 tested, only TSH and maybe FT4.
Hi, now you've said that, my T3 has risen too, it's gone over the top limit and my Doctor asked me to reduce it,(I'm on levo as well) the T4 is the same and TSH is always suppressed anyway. I didn't even think about the booster affecting it, although I don't know why I'm suprised, as I developed tinnitus after the second (Astra) jab, and still have it now.
Hi, the same thing happened to me, I increased by 1/4 grain and my FT3 result came in at 7.1 previously it was 5.6 I dropped my dose back to 1 & 1/2 grains and just retested, FT3 has come back at 5. Not sure what is going on, I think I will add in the 1/4 grain again though, as feeling very cold and will retest again in 8 weeks. This happened before I had the booster jab, so can't blame that in my case.
With NDT you dose to the relief of symptoms and NDT was used successfully for over 100 years and long before the " science " of the blood test.
The blood tests, ranges and guidelines were all introduced when Big Pharma launched it's T3 and T4 thyroid hormone replacement medications off the back of NDT in around the 1950's.
Obviously if you have a doctor sitting on our shoulder you may feel obliged to try and fall in these ranges at some point in time and possibly leaving 24 hours between last dose and blood draw to fit the requirement.
There have been several posts of people seeing unusual thyroid hormone levels, after Covid vaccinations.
I think it is suggested that to show neither a " false high nor a " false low " the advice is to leave around 12 hours if taking any thyroid hormone containing T3 and I've also read it's suggested you split your T3 dose at that time and take half what you might usually take.
I think you need to consider exactly what you are trying to achieve and why :
I think there needs to be consistency of routine and as long as you follow the same protocol you'll be able to see and track your progress more easily.
I've read of some people waiting 48 hours between last dose and blood draw in order to achieve " in range " readings for the doctor :
I'm fortunate in that I now self medicate and do not feel constrained by the rules, ranges and guidelines that were not even meant for NDT and are not fit for purpose anyway.
Hi Pennyannie again I’ve not been on here for a while as was doing well on thyroid S till this booster. I’ve dropped 1/4 grain and see if that stops racing heart and sore neck
Yes I’ve read other posts about unusual thyroid levels after vaccination .
