I expect a few people might say, “Oh yes, try it. Detoxing really helped me!” etc.
But I don’t really buy the idea that we need to do detoxing. The liver is quite good at doing that for us. For free. And I’m never too sure about the credibility of testimonials from the founder of a site which is clearly trying to flog you something!
Edited to add:
I know this is about something slightly different but it would be worth having a look at this before you buy anything. ftc.gov/system/files/warnin...
Sara Banta’s been warned quite recently about making unsubstantiated claims.
Love the fact you managed to dig that letter up. I wonder whether she added the link to her website. I think because she expanded her claims over the C Virus that has triggered the watchful eyes. Thank you.
Silver is a heavy metal itself and can accumulate in the body. While it might be beneficial to use it externally, it’s a huge risk to take it internally as it can lead to heavy metal poisoning
Silver is a good antiseptic - used by many cultures from the Romans onwards, but I can't see that it could "detox" you. You could look at Simpletruths.me.uk for some info - he also has a facebook group.
No, I wouldn't use that. 'Detox' means different things to different people. It is easy to shift far more than your body can cope with and simply redistribute it, probably somewhere where it will affect you more, like the brain, rather than less. But I don't agree that the liver is always good at doing it for us and I know mine isn't (or wasn't, because I am working to give it a hand). I reduced my intake of 'toxins', changed diet and am doing lymphatic exercises plus supplementing to gently improve functions that have been slow in me for probably my whole life - note the 'gently' and the 'slowly'. But a major 'detox' - no way, not for me. You might find this interesting purehealthclinic.co.uk/heal... (I am genetically weaker and functionally slower and had been exposed to a likely higher than usual level of chemicals and stresses). Best wishes
I totally agree with bookish . From the little i've understood about this ... i think the body has it's own systems for getting rid off stuff. We can learn how to support them gently, to help the detox system to function as well as it can . But the body deliberately hides toxic stuff it can't get rid of, in the places where it thinks it will do least harm ... if you try to dislodge it forcibly in a major 'Detox' ... it can end up floating round your system and ending up being deposited in far worse places than the the body originally stashed it.
So I think the key is learn about and support your own detox systems, slowly and consistently, everyday ....liver , skin , lymph , sleep , regular periods of rest for the digestive system so the body switches over from 'digest' to 'detox' everyday , relaxation , stress reduction, movement /exercise , reduced intake/ exposure to toxins , dietary changes to include more helpful food /herbs etc etc
My logic just can't see how ingesting a metal is preferable to consistently supporting all of these natural routes .
I'm certain my body has already figured out the safest way to detox itself and knows what it's doing much better than the people offering very expensive supplements do .. so i'm not buying it .. it may or may not be 'snake oil', but i 'm sure equally good 'detoxifying' effects can be achieved with stuff that grows down the garden.
i learnt it the heard way I once paid £250 to go on a carrot juice only detox week with colonic irrigation, combined with education on the benefits of a raw food diet .... bad idea.
After 2/3 days i ended up utterly crippled by nausea (on floor unable to move or even drink water without puking) .. scared the shit out of them.. they relented and gave me a glass of fresh squeezed apple juice which helped massively , but with hindsight, 'detox' in this manner was a very dumb thing to try .
I was on 150mcg Levo which of course these health 'experts' didn't think made any difference to anything , i was still taking it , and they knew that, but 'cure's' that you can chuck at otherwise healthy people may not always be wise for people who already need to take thyroid hormone.
OMG! That's a nasty experience 😳 just shows how easy it is for these 'experts ' to go around and keep enticing people & promise the ultimate results, which they have got lol. I can only hope that's taught them a valuable lesson 😉thanks for sharing.
I'm so impressed by the replies I've received and sincerely thank you for your responses. This has created quite an interesting conversation & your wise comments have been invaluable. I knew which way I was leaning to begin with but no doubt you have tipped the scale for good. Thank you fabulous members 🙂
I tried silver 15 years ago When I was hoping for a cure for m.e. Cfs and desperate to try anything. Shortly after taking in ( about a week) I started to get pain in my kidney area then I got a urine infection which took 3 different lots of antibiotics to clear it up. I can’t say 100% it was the silver but it has put me off ever trying it again. What I do now is fast for a day every few weeks to try to detox. Please be carful love x
I'm sorry you had that awful experience and hope you didn't suffer permanent damage. Fasting is a way better approach and for sure safer, you're in full control and doesn't cost anything really 😉 I'm staying away from the silver potion, all the comments on here were amazing and all echoing the same message. I really appreciate sharing your experience. x
My own experience with Silver and with Sara Banta is 100% different and has been great.I'm wondering if any of you have actually had dealings with Sara or tried Accelerated Health Products before?
I am in Australia and also watched a video on YouTube. I purchased a few products as I suffer from chronic fatigue and IBS.
Sara answered my questions very quickly, and I received my order quickly too (rare from the US to Australia).
Although pricey for Australia, the Cellular Detox Powder, Iodine drops and silver has made a huge difference for me.
