I'm currently taking 5mcg tablets of Liothyronine Sodium (SigmaPharm) three times daily which is rather expensive, I've asked for an alternative that might be cheaper and pharmacy I get it from can supply me 20mcg tablets of Liothyronine Hydrochloride (Thybon Henning).
I have two questions and would be grateful for your help/advice:
1) what is the difference between these two chemicals and is it ok to switch to Liothyronine Hydrochloride? I'm still in the process of working out the correct dose of T3 for me (with a private Dr).
2) Is it possible to cut the 20mcg tablets of Thybon Henning into quarters?
Many thanks,
Kathryn

Hi, I have Thybon in 20mcg tablets. As Jim says, you can easily break or cut them. I even manage 1/8s as I’m taking 2.mcg in the afternoons at the mo.My endo said Thybon is usually better tolerated too.
