Can someone tell me how much t4 and how much t 3 is in thyroid s please ? I think it’s 38 mg of T4 and 9mg of T3 but not certain ..

Also how much more potent is T3 related to T4 ( is it 3 times stronger) ? Thank for you’re help in clarifying things for me ..

Hi, you are correct. 38mcg t4 & 9mcg t3 in one grain. However, you cannot really compare the strength of the 2 hormones as they have different functions.

As I Understand it, a "normal" person produces approximately 100mcg t4 & 10mcg t3 per day.

However, we are all different & have different needs. So based on blood tests & how well you feel, you can adjust your dose.

T3 is potent & personally I have to add some t4 to my ndt to get the right balance for me. It's trial & error.

You need to go slowly with ndt as the effects are not felt immediately.

Hi, sorry for the ask. How much levo do you add to ndt and how do you take it. I'm struggling with that for the most part of the days to get the right balance.

Hi, I take 25mcg of levo & 1.25 grains ndt. I take my levo & thee quarters of a grain ndt at bedtime, then in morning , 7am ish, I take quarter grain ndt & at lunchtime I take another quarter ndt, if its very cold weather, I will take half grain at lunchtime.

So I split it into 3x day. A regular supply of t3.

Personally, I'm lucky to be quite sensitive to thyroid hormone so I don't need large amounts. I do regular medichecks blood tests. On average my t4 levels are low/ mid range, my t3 levels are mid/ high levels. I ignore the very suppressed TSH! Now after several years I feel relatively well.

I understand, it's small dose. I need to get 125 mcg levo and T3 but with ndt it's very hard to get my needs. on synthetic don't feel well. why do you take the levo at bad time?

I take levo at bedtime so I don't have to worry about mixing it with my morning coffee! I couldn't tolerate synthetic t3. Too strong for me, if I take 5mcg I get palpitations. Ndt breaks down much more slowly than synthetic t3.

I'm just waiting for slow release t3.

I tried slow release T3 and it's a problem bcs this inhibit the absorbtion of levo. So I need 3 grains ndt and 25 levo. I will try to take the levo at night. without levo I feel hipo and hiper.

Oh I didn't know that about slow release t3. Yes, I need t4 too. I have no thyroid gland after RAI. I think we do best with ndt. I take thyroid s, after nature thyroid went bad.

Me to, no thyroid after Rai but I have 115 kg, maybe that's why I need a larger dose of ndt. good luck

I don't know what to say, after I ingest the levo or ndt my stomach became balonate, like a fish balloon 🥴. My levels was fine on levo +t3 but I don't feeling well. Only on ndt my ft4 it's below the range and ft3 it is in the middle. So I suppose I need a little levo to help ft4 rise.

I too find that NDT gives me an FT4 level which is out of my comfort zone. I am adding t3
