Any help with how to dose with thyroid S. I've worked my way up to 2 grains from 100mcg Levothyroxine. I take the both in the morning before getting up. But by midday I feel absolutely shattered. I kept forgetting midday dose so started taking them both in the morning. Am I taking too much/too little...? is the only way of taking it to split the dose in the day? Any advise/suggestions welcome.

How to take THYROID S
It is trial and error. some take one dose; others split to 2 or 3 doses. As to whether your dose is adequate we would need to see blood results to comment.
You need to take it consistently as single dose or as split dose for minimum of 6-8 weeks then retest including vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Day before test splitting into 2 doses so that last dose is approx 8-12 hours before test
Come back with new post once you get results

Then set an alarm. Do you have a mobile phone - it will have an alarm. At home during the day - set the kitchen timer.
Hello Victoria :
I switched from 125mcg T4 to NDT the following day:
First I took bench numbers of T3 and T4 and had optimal vitamins and minerals and monitored my blood pressure, pulse and temperature daily.
I started on 1/2 a grain :
Week 2 -I increased by 1/4 grain ;
I increased weekly by 1/4 grains until I planned to get to 2 grains at which time I would have held that dose for 6-8 weeks letting it " bed in " and then take a blood test to see if there was any movement in my T3 level :
I only managed to get to 1 + 3/4 grains and then I was a bit anxious, edgey and not as well as the week before so I dropped down to 1 + 1/2 grains stayed on this dose for 6 weeks and then took a blood test after around 8/10 hours after my full dose which I take at around 3.00 in the morning.
My T3 and T4 had literally swopped places from my bench mark numbers when on T4 only.
Now my T3 was at 110% through with my T4 at 25% through -
I was not with any hyper symptoms, my pulse and blood pressure remained stable and my temperature was now 36.6 as opposed to 35.4.
Some people split the dose, others do not - it's all trial and error.
You may have increased too much too soon - I don't know :
The T4 takes around 6 - 8 weeks to finally leave the body and as it reduces so you slowly increase the NDT.
2 grains isn't a big dose from what I read and roughly equates to around 76 T4 + 18 T3 in the brand I take :
I'm with Graves post RAI thyroid ablation so without the gland, and read without a gland, one doesn't need so much medication - I don't know, but seems to have worked for me.
I split the dose - one pill in the morning and one at night. I find this helps my flat spot which is around 2 in the afternoon. I also get full technicolour dreams which can be interesting, although why I dreamed last night that someone was knocking the back wall of the house out I will never know!
Hi Victoria2603. I used to have this problem until I started using a pill organizer, the ones for each day of the week, split into 2, 3, or even 4 times a day (morning, noon, afternoon, bedtime). That way I'll know if I took my pills by checking the pillbox to see if the slots are empty or still full
