Flu and covid booster

Morning everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has had their flu and covid booster together, or at least on the same day? My hubby and myself have got ours this Thursday at different times and our GPs receptionist reckons it should be ok but I’m not sure. Any advice?

Hi

I'm spacing mine out as I have a history of getting a very sore arm, especially from past flu jabs. My covid jabs, Pfizer, caused an aching arm as well. I didn't fancy not being able to lie down on either side in bed lol. Which happened to my FIL. He had both his jabs together.

I'm due covid booster from mid November so l'm having my flu jab at the start of the month. Were you OK after your covid jabs or did you get side effects, have you ever had a flu jab before and were you OK on that?

Yes I have flu jabs every year never had any side effects, with my first covid I felt a bit yukky for a day or two but my second was fine.

My advice would be don't take a receptionists advice on medical matters or maybe ask for her relevant qualifications!

We have decided that we will go for our flu jab and as the nurse beforehand to double-check. Apparently Joan Collins had hers at the same time, one in each arm but I can’t find out if that’s true.

Can’t speak to same day but I got my flu shot on a Tuesday and my third covid shot on the Friday. No issues with either.

Thank you but ours are both on the same day with a few hours in between and as it was a receptionist that said “it should be ok” I’ve only got her word for it.

I was told by my GP that the flu jab has to be a week apart from the Covid vaccine.

Yes I’m going to verify it when I go for my flu jab which is the earliest appointment

There seems to be conflicting information.

My husband and I are having both on Thursday too. Just spoken to a friend. She and her husband had theirs last week. He has Malignant Myeloma but both had no problems with either jab.

Kimkat, Everyone is different. Some people may be fine having both jabs at the same time, others may not.

Whilst I understand why you have asked the question, it is really off topic for this forum. Hence I am now closing the post to further comments.

Whatever you decide to do, you will be able to share your experience on our upcoming (in a few days time) Covid Booster poll.
