Any thoughts pl re having the covid booster vaccination when diagnosed with Graves Disease.
I have at age 65 Graves Disease - diagnosed June 2023 - latest bloods - TSH/ T3/T4 in range - so improved, weight increasing ( I became under weight by far!) , and other aspects improving / energy a bit up and down as to palpitations.
My reading suggest that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks- especially as I also suffer from asthma (controlled) but have been hospitalised with pneumonia twice and 1 with low oxygen.
I am also due for flue and shingles vaccines..
So am concerned at overload on my body that is already challenged with Graves
Any thoughts welcome please.
Many thanks

Hi, I'm 65 with Hashimoto's/Hypothyroidism and I DID NOT get the shot. I do not trust Dr. Fauci and I don't trust a vaccine messing with my mRNA. I came down with a 3 day case of Covid and it was nothing. I had pneumonia as an infant so I think that I'm covered for pneumonia antibodies. There are too many weird side effects happening to young people who've had the shot. I don't get flu shots either. I live in the USA. Unless you are around children, who get sick a lot, or the public I would stay away from a shot that the government once mandated. But that's my opinion. If you have been diagnosed as "obese" then I would talk to your doctor and weigh the pro's and con's. Good luck. I heard that the booster is much more expensive. At least in the US.
Yes , taken a look. So posted...to see if I could see any consensus. ....unlikely I think.
Have now written to GP....
I am in favour of vaccinations generally...but the ones I have had are tried and tested over a long time and on me....I am not dead yet !
Covid is new so a bit of caution I think doesn't go amiss.
Let's see what GP says.
Think will be do it and others as risks of not having outweigh risk of having it. But I am wondering if spreading them out will be advised....let's see.
Hello Littlefoot,I am with Graves disease since 2018.I had a thyroidectomy last June.I have had all available covid jabs and also flu jabs(even if I had to pay for them)I have not noticed any worsening of my graves disease after any vaccination.I caught covid once and was not too ill with it(like a mild flu).We did have to shield because of my son who is going for his today.I am not feeling 100% at the moment myself as trying to get levels right, but will still have my jabs, as for me it is the lesser of two evils.Hope this may help in your decision as it is a personal choice.Best wishes to you.
Well I had the covid jab....a week ago...flu 4 days ago.Bit more tired than usual ( I am always tired now but was more so) for one night after covid jab and then the night of the flu jab ....but so far so good...as i was last year after yhese jabs (then I had together ) ...but that was pre graves diagnosis.
So reckoning all ok.
Let you know if not.
Thanks for all your guidance. Helped me in my decision.
