Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Fluoride has been proven to slow down the thyroid - among other things. I signed a petition on 38 Degrees web site, but it has been taken down due to 'inappropriate content'. If they go ahead with this, we'll be forced to invest in a filter system which removes fluoride - crazy.

It also is very bad for MCAS, mast cell activation syndrome- which can go along with a few autoimmune diseases in the connective tissue family. Sjögren’s and Antiphospholipid syndrome patients are particularly prone to having MCAS, and antiphospholipid patients and notoriously infamous for Thyroid dysfunction….

Many of us with APS ( antiphospholipid syndrome) are here on Thyroid Uk thanks to APS- I certainly am.

I think that it is good that we raise these petitions and sign them but am doubtful that they make any difference. Prof Twitty has declaimed and that is that. He can’t have looked at the evidence of harm as there are loads of scientific papers to show that fluoride is a toxin and should not be ingested. This will be on a par with declaring that the benefits of the jibjab for children outweigh the harms - garbage. The benefits of fewer caries (disputed) by adding fluoride to the water supply far outweighs the harms to tens of thousands of people - garbage.
