I misunderstood your previous post, I didn't realise you meant boxes with bottles inside, I thought it was boxes with blister packs inside you were talking about.

I suppose they could have been mishandled and the seal broken in error, as long as the bottles have the seals intact I would have thought that was OK as long as they match previous bottles you've had in every way. However, if you are having a bad reaction to them, check the tablets are the same as previous ones. Also, maybe contact Teva, there may be others who have had adverse reactions.

Hi seasidesusie 💖I've looked on the top of the boxes the pc: numbers are the same and the exp and lot numbers are the same to the only difference is the SN: numbers they are all different in all 6 boxes, I don't know what the pc, or SN number indicate.. Exp is 03/2022..in date👍

I've had opened and resealed boxes of meds in the past where the amount of tablets on my prescription has differed from the standard amount in the box. Eg, the script has said something like 20 tablets but the medication only comes in boxes of 28. So the pharmacist has had to open the box and only hand out the specified amount. Dunno if that'd apply in your case?

Hi 💖Thanks for the reply, yeah I've had that also but the actual plastic bottles look intacked.. The plastic ring is still sealed, it's just strange all my lactose symptoms have come back since starting on this new pack.. As I say today I've only had one twinge this morning and nothing more my bowles have settled down now... 🤷‍♀️

Ask the pharmacy to explain. They should know. See if that helps.

Hi mandy-white❤️Been on teva T3 only for a year now, all my thyroid hormones are in range and have been for months, but I started on this new script about 2 weeks ago, same T3 teva bottle looks the same but my pharmacy have said for the past couple of months they are finding it hard to obtain it, but I've complained to the pharmacy and my gp about it as on 1 occasion I completely ran out of the meds and the last few times I've had 2 or 3 days supply left before I managed to get the T3,.. My gp has tried on numerous occasions to get me off T3 but as I pointed out they are working for me, but having lactose intolorent problems for many years I know the symptoms, only about 9 weeks ago I was passing a kidney stone my gp would not come out to see me and just prescribed a strong painkiller my friend got them and I immediately started on them, it usually takes around 3/4days for the lactose to build up in my system that's when I get cramping(first symptoms) then my bowles get inflamed with server pain then I start to pass motions with brandy colour jelly then I get very loose motions, I knew after the 4th day of taking the painkillers something was wrong I checked the ingredients out on the leaflet and they contained lactose 🤦‍♀️ I immediately stopped them before I got worse, so I couldn't figure out why I started with these bowles symptoms again I'd been on the T3 for around 5 days and were having all the lactose symptoms I was in a lot of pain in the lower bowls, I checked everything I'd eaten, drank ect but I'd not had anything with lactose in, so I then checked the other bottles of T3 in the bag that's when I noticed the boxes had been opened, I don't know what a T3 table looks like that contains lactose 🤷‍♀️ could they have put T3 containing lactose in a mix up? .. Also I noticed a very horrible after taste especially in the morning, I've never had that in a year of taking T3 teva, everything has gone nuts since I started on this new batch.... 🤷‍♀️ I've been off them for 3 days now, and all the symptoms have gone, the bowle pain, inflammation as gone down, and no horrible taste in my mouth, I'm going to stay off them one more day then go back on them if after 3 days they symptoms start again I will know its these T3 tables 👍

I had the same happen with my last prescription of Teva lio 20mcg. I always open my bag on collection in front of pharmacy staff to check contents as I've been given the wrong brand on a few occasions. My prescription specifiesTeva t3 which works for me. One of the 2 boxes was open but the bottle seal was intact. (I always find the bottles really hard to open!) The pharmacist opened & counted the contents just in case & I've just started using that bottle. Labels on box & bottle matched. My batch had Exp 12/21. Does seem a bit odd but maybe the leaflet was missing in some batches & they were opened to add it? My box had not been resealed as if to hide tampering so I assumed it was a 1 off. The pharmacy thought it had possiblly been opened by them to apply the label directly to the bottle but they never did before as there is no need to open the sealed box. A bit odd.....

I have seen pharmacy staff open a product's outer in order for them to read a Patient Information Leaflet. I'm sure there are also other possibilities.

Hi missd66❤️Yeah I agree those bottles are hell to open I have bad soft tissue calcification of my wrist joints, I use a pair of scissors to open the bottles, not safe I know but I have no strength to turn the top and push down 🤷‍♀️ in the 12 months I've been on this brand of T3 all the boxes were sealed, I had to break the seals myself, and I've never had any bowle problems with this brand, I did with the first table my endocrinologist put me on, t4 Thyroxine it contained lactose I suffered for months eventually my gp couldn't figure out why my thyroid bloods were so bad, I told him I'm bringing the tablet right through me I'm in so much pain in my bowles, they changed my script to T4 lactose free but my bloods were still bad turns out I was a bad converter from T4 to T3 so endocrinologist put me on T3 lactose free, worked and has been great up to 2 weeks ago when I picked my next script up, it's all gone nuts in my bowles so I think it's the T3, the pharmacy have given me as I'm very careful with my diet, 👍

I also have problems converting & my endo added t3 to my t4. Ive been given various brands over the years, (depending on what was cheapest I guess), mainly Mercury pharma t3 which did nothing for me. Swapping to Teva was an instant improvement for me & is now specified on my prescription. I have osteo arthritis in my hands & struggle with those seals. I haven't noticed any issues/how I feel with this bottle (4 days in). It's frustrating when so many factors can affect you. I do hope you feel better soon x

I know you are supposed to take Thyroid hormones on an empty stomach, but if stuck with some pills containing lactose for a time, would it help to take the lactase enzyme, say 30 minutes to an hour before the thyroid pill? I found I am able to enjoy a milk shake if I take Lactaid before.

And a thought just occurred to me. Why couldn't manufacturers add the missing enzyme, lactase, to any pills they feel they must put together with lactose?

Hi vocalEK💗I've had the added problem that my gp and endo don't believe in lactose intolerance 🤷‍♀️ even now they don't believe I've got it, even though I went to the hospital and the test, came bk positive for lactose, I always take my meds on an empty stomach ect, but I've been great on them for a year so why should I just start with the bowle problems now.. That's why I think the batch could be wrong.. 🤷‍♀️
