Feeling awful for long

Hi there I been optimally doses but not feeling well on NdT but results show no issues much with conversion as everything is in good optimals. Iam thinking maybe I should change NDt brands and Iam sensitive to fillers ? Please any thoughts of this as Iam struggling few years and can’t find the reason why Iam feeling so bad -chronic headaches , joint muscle pain brain fog despite my bloods being very good. Has anyone had such issues as well where someone has been sensitive to fillers in Ndt and tried new brands and had success ? I have raised tpo and hypothyroidism.

Hello Ari :

It sounds like you are under medicated but we really do need have some facts to offer you any advise. as optimal and good conversion is quite a personal thing meaning different things to different people.

I'm sorry Ari but when I try and zoom in the figures become distorted and I can't see clearly any numbers.

It's best to take the same amount of NDT every day -

With NDT you dose first, to the relief of symptoms and the blood test result and ranges are just a guide as to where your levels are sitting.

If you were well on 1.80 and 2 grains gives you a loose stool and hyper type symptoms why not stay on the lower dose and give it 6- 8 weeks to bed in and then see how you feel at that point in time.

What is your T3 / T4 result and range on this print out and how long did you leave between last dose and blood draw ?

What are your ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D levels ?

In short - can you please type in the results and ranges unless it's just me, who can't see well this page.

I've just looked back and you posted this self same question and blood test about 14 days ago and received answers, which I didn't read.

You have a thyroid autoimmune disease, and are liable to erratic surges and dips in your own thyroid hormone production and can only assume that these current symptoms could be the aftermath of your immune system response attacking your thyroid as your antibodies are over range.

I read some people, sensing an attack coming on, stop their thyroid hormone replacement for a day or two to try and offset the severity of the attack that causes hyper type symptoms.

You may find it helpful to read up on Thyroid UK , the charity who support this forum, about Hashimoto's Disease, which I think you maybe suffering with.

Your T3 wasn't over range but this is just a snapshot in time, and obviously not truly reflective of how you are feeling.

What brand of NDT are you taking? Perhaps cut down to 1.5 grains and add some levo in as your T4 is low but your TSH is suppressed.

I'm familiar with the pain, brain fog etc. VERY familiar. I've been put on the AIP paleo diet by a doctor and I have to say the pain is almost 80% better PLUS I appear to absorb the NDT and my vits better. And that's in a few weeks.

So when you're trying everything and still feel rubbish the place to look is probably your diet. Which sucks when you're used to eating a certain way I know.

I just want to alert you that your personal details are showing on your screenshot. You might want to remove it and reenter without your name showing. It looks to me that you might need to add some Levothyroxine to your NDT as your FT4 is below range. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will help. SeasideSusie SlowDragon
