What do you think of these results? I've been changed from 2 grains of ndt and 5mcg of t3 to 75mcg of levo and 10 mcg of t3. I'm a bit tired but I feel much more stable.

How long since you changed?

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking and which brand T3

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

When on T3, day before test, split dose into three smaller doses roughly equal 8 hour intervals. Taking last dose T3 at roughly 8-12 hours before test

So 5mcg waking, 2.5mcg 2pm and 2.5mcg at 9pm, assuming test at 9am

Is this how you did your test?

When were vitamin D, folate and B12 last tested

I take teva levo 75mcg at night and tiromel 5mcg at 6am and and 1pm. I didn't take any medication until after I'd done me bloods at 9am

So levothyroxine was only about 10 hours before test?

Or 36 hours before test?

10 hours - results will show false high Ft4

36 hours- results will show false low Ft4

Last dose T3 was far too long before test, at 20 hours before test, so false low Ft3 result

Explains why this Ft3 result looks rather low

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

REMEMBER.....very important....stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results - eg vitamin B complex

I was taking b12 so the will have affected the results as well

B12 is fine

Biotin can falsely affect test results as it’s used in lab test kits (found in most vitamin B complex)

Do you have an active infection or inflammation currently going on? Just asking, as your CRP is high, which in turn gave you the high results on your ferritin levels. I wouldn't worry about the iron levels too much, as the other values seem in range.Your free T3 is still on the low side, hence you might still feel a bit tired but this may not reflect your actual level, depending on when you took the last T3 before the test. Also, good advice to stop the Vit B supplements before the testing, as this can interfere with the assessments.

I've always got high ferritin levels unfortunately. I don't really know why. I've managed to get them down from over 600 so they are heading in the right direction. I do have arthritis.

My t3 needs to be higher, may be worth asking for a slight increase to 10mcg morning. Or an increase in levo to 100 if it was 36 hrs since last dose when bloods were taken.
