Dosage help!

I have been taking NDT successfully for a number of years now-recently I had to change supplier due to shortages in supply.

I purchased NP Thyroid based on the dosage I was taking of Thyroid S from the original supplier.

Each tablet is 120mg & contains 76mcg T4 & 18mcg T3, I took 2 daily equating to 152mcg T4 & 36mcg T3.

After 3 months I had my bloods done & Free T3 went up from 5.0 to 7.41 (3.1-6.8)and free T4 went from 13.9 to 20.2 (12-22).

Hence I reduced dose by half a tablet and retested bloods 8 weeks later: Free T3 has dropped to 4.0 from 7.41 & Free T4 has dropped from 20.2 to 12.9.

To me this indicates that I need to increase dose as results are at lower end of reference range? I could try increasing by quarter of a tablet but even with a pill splitter the tablets disintegrate to powder when cutting them. Also surprised that half a tablet caused such a large drop in levels?

Not sure wether to stay in what I am in & put up with lower results-I am tired & have gained weight but manageable.

So your tablets are 2 grain, so you were taking 4 grains NDT daily.

Reducing by half a tablet meant you reduced by 1 whole grain. That's a big reduction as normally when tweaking doses of NDT at the level you were taking one would adjust dose by 1/4 of a grain at a time.

Can you source a lower dose tablet so that you can tweak dose by a much lower amount?
