Hyperthyroidism, stress and TSH level

Hi,

I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid last August and taking PTU 50mg twice a day. My TSH level has gone from 1.4 in May to 1.7 from yesterday’s bloods. I have been in hospital with sepsis recently and under a considerable amount of stress. This might seem like a stupid question but can stress affect your thyroid level?

Absolutely yes

Essential to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

When were these last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Please add Ft4 and Ft3 results.

TSH often lags behind dropping Ft4 and Ft3…..just testing TSH is completely inadequate
