Tsh level high

Is it possible to have a tsh level of greater than 100? My GP left voice mail instructions to increase Levo from 100mcg to 150mcg due to recent lab results. I'm awaiting copies of results from mail . How do you get a level of greater than 100? I take my Levo as soon as I wake up religiously. No food for 1 hr. Any advice is appreciated.

Suggest you get hold of actual printed copy of results and ranges

TSH, Ft4 and Ft3

Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Dose levothyroxine is usually increased in 25mcg steps

TSH greater than 100 usually means no thyroid action at all. The actual number isn't important - anything above 50 is just as informative. TSH tests aren't accurate at these high levels.

Thank you diogenes I wasn't aware of that. I've been so preoccupied with correcting a B12 level in the 50's that I've overlooked my thyroid issues. My thyroid had been stable for years, maybe the low B12 affected the thyroid??? I have alot of research to do. But, thank you for your input.

Did you stop your B supplements around a week before the blood draw as some supplements contain biotin which can effect some measuring assays at the laboratory and this might explain this unusual reading ?
