I've been off line for a while. just a quick update, after 10 years of using synthroid, My doctor finally change my med to Armour Thyroid 150mcg. I have reach a point in my life, to figure things out myself. My t3 is constantly low and no doctor will right a prescription for t3 cytomel or some other form of t3 med. I decided to ween myself of my thyroid medication. I take it once a week (Every Sunday) . I feel like my normal self, My diet has change and I exercise twice a day seven days a week, high and low workouts. and this has help me tremendously. I just take it one day at a time and trust God with the rest of it, this may not work for everyone, but this is where I am in my life with no thyroid.

Armour Thyroid is dosed in milligrams. Tablets are usually 15, 30, 60 milligrams (approximately a quarter, half and one grain).

Therefore I am confused by you saying "150mcg"! There are several possibilities and it would be great if you would clarify, please. :-)

From what I've read, you'll feel good for a while then feel very poorly and then it will take time to get your levels back up.

There were other options... you could have tried daily dosing of t4, increasing t4, adding in T3, optimising your vitamins...

Would be worth posting your latest results and asking the lovely people here for advice. X

Actually maybe I'm confused have you stopped taking meds or just moved to weekly? Anyway still worth posting results snd say what you were taking at the time you had bloods taken.

If you do actually have NO thyroid left at all then you have no alternative but to replace thyroid hormones (in some form) for life.

many people feel very good INITIALLY if they stop ..... but that doesn't mean it's a long term solution for them (and if you have no thyroid at all, it simply can't last.)

Especially with such a high level of exercise!

Hi MonaLisaWilliams, I am really interested in knowing how you are doing as I am lowering my meds at this time. However I do have a thyroid. Just hoping it still works.
