I am always cold. I can’t lose weight I am on 3grs Armour in the morning but feel like a limp rag. I feel I need T3 but need some help please. Many thanks

Can I ask how long you have been taking 3 grains of Natural Desiccated Thyroid ?

I think your T4 a little high possible showing less well conversion ?

Has your T3 dipped from previous years results ?

Do you have previous years results and can see any pattern emerging ?

Conversion can be compromised by low levels of vitamins and minerals, and also inflammation, any physiological stress - emotional or physical - dieting, depression, and ageing.

So we can't turn back the clock and know we are slowing down, so could you increase your dose a little and see what happens ?

I also need to keep my ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D at optimal levels to aid conversion of the thyroid hormone replacement - maybe these need checking out ?

I aim for ferritin at around 100 : folate 20 : B12 active 70 + / serumB12 500 + and vitamin D 100 : range dependant aiming for a good 50% +

I'm 73, post RAI thyroid ablation for Graves, and now self medicating with NDT and much improved, managing lingering Graves, thyroid eye disease and hypothyroidism.
