I know some other B complex vitamins are now recommended but I am using up my pot. The same with Vitamin D and K2. Just trying to use up what I have. On the whole I feel well with regards to my thyroid health after a long period of stress but my Folate seems low and Vitamin B and D have room for improvement I feel? Any advice really appreciated. Thank You.

I believe the dose instructions for Iggenus B are for 2 a day so you could always double that up to use your supply up and boost your B12 & folate.

Vit D should be 90-100. Use thsi calc to work out how much D3 & K2 you need to take to get there. grassrootshealth.net/projec...

Ferritin could be higher. 90-100 is best for thyroid hormone use.

Wat time of day was test taken? 9am is best time with TSH at highest.TSH is pretty good, BUT free numbers not so good.

Free T4 (fT4) 18.3 pmol/L (12 - 22) 63.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.48 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 37.3%

It doesn't look like you are converting that well.

Thank you for your reply. I took test at 9am and followed advice from forum. I am surprised my TSH is even in range, it is normally under range. My CRP has reduced from nearly 10 to now in range? I will try 2 Vitamin B complex until used up my supply. Thank you for link regarding Vitamin D.

How long before blood test did you stop vitamin B complex ?

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and a separate B12 just for that week

Thank you for reply SlowDragon. Test at 9am as per forum advice, Levo taken after blood test. I stopped B complex 2 weeks before the test. Ah good advice regarding taking the 2 separate vitamins in the week before the test, I didnt realise I could take the B12 incase the test was skewed? I do have some B12 to hand for next time. Any recommendations for the methyl folate?

I sent my Igennus B back to Amazon for a refund. I thought I would see out the pot too, I was taking 2 a day spaced out as instructed but the old tingly arms when in bed came back, it’s rubbish for me. Someone mentioned the vit C in it stops the B from absorbing or something. I think they are right.

So I’ve sent it back and am on the separate B12 and folate till the Thorne Basic arrives. 🌱

That was a great idea but I am half way down the pot 🙄. Thats the name of the Vitamin B that I couldn't remember - Thorne Basic. Is that the one that is recommended now? I have never taken a separate Folate but since mine is quite low it looks like I'll have to start.

yes I finished a bottle of Thorne Basic B and couldn’t get any more at a good price so tried Igennus, Amazon said I had till 19th Feb to return so maybe it’s a 30 day thing. Worth a try I object to spending £20 a tub for stuff that doesn’t work. Found Thorne on the IHerb website if you download their app you get a 20% off welcome code. Made it about £23 including postage.

Folate, I used a 400ug Methyl Folate from Health Leads, nice mini capsules. Initially it was just for blood test week because my levels dropped so fast when stopping Biotin for 5 days, but I’ve also taken this a few days a week for about 2 months on top of Thorne and folate is now tip top so back to maintaining that with just the B Complex

Yes I think the first time I looked at Thorne Basic the price was ridiculous on Amazon but I will have a look at the site you purchased yours from. Thanks for the idea regarding the Folate, that would be a good way to bring mine up a bit too.i really appreciate you taking the time to reply - thank you.

Hello all, sorry to hijack on here and not sure if I have misunderstood. Why would you only take folate for the week before your test and not all the time?

I had my results back last week and my folate was under range clr the first time.

Hi there, from what I can gather, if I stop the B Complex for a week or 2 before my blood test then it's OK to take B12 and the folate whilst waiting to be tested ( I thought I had to stop all B vitamins because of Biotin) I am presuming there is folate in the B complex so shouldn't need separate folate tablet but like you my folate is low? I find it difficult to get all my ducks in a row regarding vitamins
