Folic acid and calcium question

Hi all,

I have another thyroid test next Tuesday. I take folic acid daily as well as zinc, selenium and vitamin D. Should I stop taking folic acid now until next week? Is it the same as B12? Also is it ok to eat dairy/drink a flat white coffee 2 hours after Levo ingestion?? I’ve been doing this but when you fall down the google rabbit hole, you find all sorts of conflicting info!

There are several B vitamins. Folic acid is B9 so it's not the same as B12. The B vitamin that is necessary to leave off before blood tests is B7 - biotin - either as a stand alone supplement or as part of a B Complex.

I would have thought 2 hours is fine for a flat white and possibly other dairy items. It's not something that I have to think about as I take my Levo when I need the bathroom about 4-5am and don't have breakfast until around 10am and milky coffee around noon.

Thanks Susie. I’ll see what my bloods say next week-maybe they might indicate if the 2 hour gap needs extended..
