Update for those who mentioned an interest.

After my bloods (t4 @ 14% of range and t3 @ 27%) on an earlier post.... emailed endo. He sent me a prescription for a raise in t3 from 10 mcg to 20mcg. Oh and a form for next bloods, pleased with that!

I was with those that said raise t4 as I have found t3 a struggle. Anyway have decided to raise by 5mcg for a few weeks and see how it goes. If I can tolerate it I will then add the other 5.

Will post next results in a while.

Keeping fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Good news and I'm sure you will find it of benefit. It is good to introduce T3 to 15 mcg and then in a few weeks to 20mcg, I'm sure you will find a benefit. Any feeling of 'too much' reduce slightly for some weeks befor trying a small increase.

Thank you Shaws. I will be sure to do it slowly. 😊

I saw my endo today too and he offered to raise t3 5mcg but I asked for a levo increase instead as like you I’ve found it difficult. Might take the lio next time tho!

Good luck with your increase and keep us posted.

Oh I think you were the sensible one. Also you saw him so able to talk. I put it in an email and kept it brief as poss. Got prescribed teva 75mcg again too 🙄. Going to have to use it as will run out of my ‘spares’ that I was using. I did explain teva was no good for me as in it doesn’t seem to work but 🤷‍♀️ It appears he skimmed my email.

I hope you manage to raise the levo easily this time. 🤞🏻🤞🏻. You never know this might be the one for you (🤞🏻🤞🏻again!). Here’s to hoping we feel ready for anything in a few weeks... pma!!

Yeah ideally sooner rather than later as I’m busy with the local elections ha ha. Hope you feel better too.

I’ve been on teva for ages. It must work or I’d be in bed... right?!!... I always wonder would I feel better on a different brand but never tried it. Might see if I can get hold of some one time and trial it ha ha.

Do you feel really bad with Teva? What do you notice different?

Oh yes... local elections.... you need to to improve soon with all that going on 🤞🏻

I find Teva like taking a reduced amount. My blood tests matched my instinct. I don’t recall any side effects but will keep you posted. I think that, as with anything thyroid, as long as you are consistent then it’s fine. So if you consistently get teva then your results are the same, it’s when they keep swapping brands the problems start?

Have a great day x.

Well it’s as if you predicted it, I’ve been given accord this month...at same time I’m increasing so that won’t help. But maybe it’s time to try a different brand and whether it makes a difference.

Well maybe it will make a difference? Assuming your on t3 because you don’t convert well though? Although you sort of understand all that on paper but when it comes to the practical it’s all very different....

Two days of such bad joint pain I feel like I’ve rolled the clock back 10 years. So my t4 levels have lowered but my t3 levels remain fairly consistent according to my last blood test so why has my main symptom returned when the constipation (apologies lol) has improved! And t3 is the active hormone 🤔 is this the difference between naturally converting and synthetic t3? Does anyone even understand what I mean? Lol.

I hope the different brand gives you a bit of a boost 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Sounds good! I suffer from a little T4 bias... and at my last phone consultation the endo threatened to up T3 instead. Being impatient and reckless I thought I’d gave it a trial run the other day and it worked rather nicely, so who is to say?!

This having been said, I reverted back to my old dose after and I am feeling OK. Better than I have in a while, so maybe I don’t need it. But there are other factors, like whether or not I accidentally took 125 mcg levo instead of 75 for a couple of days, or the fact I canned the dairy again. In short, I have no idea. From a scared-of-my-own-shadow and practical perspective, more T4 and less T3 is easier in case the endo goes somewhere else and is replaced by a T3 hater and I have to source my own or something. And perhaps T4 seems a bit more stable.

Looking at what my endo is doing - and thinking about your numbers - it amuses me how mine banged on about hating NDT and yet the way he’s going, I’ll end up with the kind of free %s through range which will make me look like I’m on NDT anyway... just a random thought!

Oh yes I get all of that. But you are funny! I also wonder what I’ve taken too! I set my alarm for 6am for t4 but continually stir throughout the early hours take some or think I’ve taken some then worry when my alarm goes off. Did I take some out of the pack? Because there’s still one in my pill pot? Certain I took it. Cant of taken it?? 😱 need a different system I have decided.

T4 will be easier to source but if you need t3 you need it. So the very fact that he's prepared to prescribe it should be interpreted as ‘it’s required’. I can’t believe that you got to this point being scared of your own shadow so you’re obviously your own worst critic! If it improves how you feel then maybe you should not look so far ahead? Just a thought 🤣
