interesting reaction from consultant to t4, t3, ndt

hi all, I've just been told my bloods were:

t4 mid range; tsh 0; t3 9.3 (top of the range is 6).

However, my consultant tells me that's fine.

I take 4grains ndt, and 25micrograms liothyronine. ie. 152 t4; 51 t3.

He says that as I've just transferred from levothyroxine and liothyronine to ndt, he wants me to continue with my current dose.

I do get thyroid moments if I stop using the liothyronine, like I can't walk, I'm breathless etc etc. so he thinks that even though I take so much, I do need it.

If I take my dose of liothyronine just before exercise then I don't have any side effects at all.

If I take it when I'm sedentary I get a bit hyper.

Anyone got any thoughts on all this.

When did you take your last dose of NDT and liothyronine before the blood test?

Do you have reference ranges for your results and the exact result for T4 (and is that total T4 or free T4?).

What your consultant is saying is out of step with what most others think, i.e. having such an over range T3 being fine.
