Apixaban and nose bleeds !

I posted about a week ago about my gp about to ring me about my low TSH ? As luck would have it when he rang I was having the most awful nose bleed . I had had a couple the week before but managed to stop them but this one no way ! He gave me some instructions and said go to A&E if it didn't stop. Two tea towels later I was at the hospital. Anyway after some pretty awful treatment I was sent home to return the next day. I was told to stop Apixaban. To my horror when looking at possible side effects not only nose bleeds, but bleeds from anywhere. My doc was going to look into the dosage as I am 20kg under the recommend but also just a year under the age limit , but trying to get in touch with him is impossible. Does anyone else have an experience of this or blood thinners in general ? Pp

Thanks for your reply Scrumbler. I have spent the afternoon trying to chase up the gp I spoke to last week. All I have managed is a phone call in the morning with what I assume is a locum. If there is a lesser dosage tablet maybe that's the answer. Back to repeating my history all over again 🙄 Pp
