Leg aches, causes?

Hello all...

Right, I'm having a new issue that's started over the last month or so.

While running, or should I say trying to run I'm getting pain in my legs, it usually doesn't start right away, maybe after a mile or so.

It's kind of like a combination of regular muscle burning and cramp, it almost feels like my legs get full of blood like they should but then my blood stops circulating like it should and then the strange thing is when I give in to the pain I can walk for 20 seconds or so and the pain clears allowing me to continue running for another half mile or so before it starts building the pain again.

I've been a fairly avid runner for a few years now, I quit the gym to get outside on the road instead. So I'm not new to this in case anyone thinks it's just normal delayed onset muscle soreness, I don't really get that after running because my legs are accustomed to it.

It's really annoying and it's holding me back as I'm trying to build my fitness so that I can hopefully do a half marathon later this year.

Has anyone experienced this? Hopefully there is a cause I can tackle, maybe a deficiency of some kind?

I take most of the main advised otc meds, b12, b complex, iron, d3, zink, calcium, magnesium.

I'm hashi hypo but my most recent bloods showed showed t3 and t4 were in range. I've also had my testosterone checked and that was also normal..

Oh and I'm also gluten free.

Hopefully someone knows what's causing this?

Thanks and sorry about the long post but hopefully that will help someone know what the problem is...

Jamie..

Yeah no problem,

Tsh - 2.29 mIU/L 0.27 - 4.2 R

Free t3 - 5.92 pmol/L3.1 - 6.8 R

Free t4 - 5.77 pmol/L 12 - 22 R

I know these are low, in range but I actually upped meds because I felt under medicated a little and then decided, actually I'm going to run a test, see where I'm at so these will all be higher when I next get tested I would expect. I can't really see it being these levels causing the problem.

Leg cramps are a sure sign to me that I'm under-medicated. Your TSH is too high: once on thyroid meds it should be less than 2 and probably less than 1 and if your free T4 is just 5.77 and the lab range starts at 12 that's a LONG way under-range. If that's a typo and it should be 15.7 it's still a feeble 37% through range rather than the two-thirds through so many of us need x

Ahh yeah, you're right.

My mistake. t4 was out of range but because I take t3 that was in range range without t4 being in range. I was taking metavive and t3 before this test, obviously not enough metavive to raise t4 into range. When I upped my meds just before this test I had just added in an extra cap of metavive then when I saw these results I decided to drop a cap of metavive and replaced it with some t4 instead, 50mcg.

Although I haven't retested since I would expect t4 to now be in range and t3 should have raised some and tsh will also be lower I'd imagine..

I do plan to retest soon but its not quite been long enough since I switched to taking t4 along with t3 and metavive...

I know some people need to have t4 in range to feel well but I didn't expect low t4 to cause this issue so maybe if it is the issue I will still need to make some adjustments after my next test..

Before this test I was taking 2 metavive 2 and 50 mcg of t3, I mistakenly believed that 1 metavive would be around the same as 1 grain ndt anyway so I felt under medicated and upped the dose to 3 metavive then after seeing these results I decided to go with 50 mcg levo instead of the 3rd cap of metavive. So my t3/t4 should have raised and tsh should have dropped since this most recent test
