Hello. Yesterday on the radio I caught the tail end of someone seeming to say either the vaccination or covid itself could worsen autoimmune conditions. Although I don't have a Hashi's diagnosis my endocrinologist is sure I have it, which means the surgery does not have me recorded as having an autoimmune condition in case there is a problem with the vaccination. Please could you share your knowledge on this? Especially those of you with a Hashi's diagnosis who would hopefully have been told what you need to know. Is there the possibility of a problem. (Due for vacc on Friday)

vaccination and autoimmune, eg Hashimoto's query
as far as i know nobody has the answer. i suspect that there is insufficient/no data on this. it doesn’t help that (in my experience) gp’s and endo’s seem to think autoimmune is not a major problem and treat hashimotos as simplyunderactive thyroid (not all medics just the ones i’ve encountered)keen to hear of any research or data on this as my family is riddled with hashimotos and sister in law has lupus
Hi London81, I think you are right that there just isn't the information. I'm going to have it anyway, how about you?

I think it could be problematic if a female has a propensity for autoimmune disorders and is also on hrt or a natural / plant hrt suppliment therefore creating possible estrogen dominance - and then has the vaccine
It is the combination of estrogen dominance and the propensity to develop autoimmune disorders that needs close scrutiny
this is interesting.i’ve just started on progesterone cream due to oestrogen dominance altho i’ve not felt much difference, my pmt is a bit less severe
Hi yes I do think the combination of estrogen dominance and a propensity to autoimmune disorders are a lethal mixture and I speak from experience.
Progesterone cream is great for countering estrogen dominance
On a light note Lizzo30 - it can't be lethal since you are still here posting! Please though could you give the supporting evidence for this, I can see the possible connection between oestrogen and ai-disorders, but not any reason for hrt to cause any problem when vaccinated with or without an ai-d. Since so many women are on hrt wouldn't this have been highlighted?
Hi there it is all really my personal experience it was a nightmare what I went through lol.In 2018 I had been taking Aguaje for a few years for menopause and was getting on fine , it was obvs elevating my estrogen levels then in November I started taking Rhodiola, I had bought it for a family member but they didn't want it so I took it , it stimulates your immune system , initially I felt fine then in December I started getting skin issues so I stopped taking the Rhodiola and in January 2019 I erupted with severe eczema that was so bad I was escalated to the top of the waiting list to see the NHS dermatologist
There's more but basically that is the gist of my experience of what happens when estrogen dominence and immune system stimulators collide
Sounds rotten, however, people with ai diseases have flu vaccinations etc as do people with oestrogen dominance and both together. I don't think we can extrapolate from your experience with rhodiola to vaccination.
