I have Graves’ and no thyroid due to radiation 13yrs ago. I have been able to get a private prescription for Cynomel and a Belgium pharmacy to send it to me, but live in the UK and since brexit they are no longer able to help. I tried reducing as I use Cynomel to top up as the NHS don’t prescribe me enough T3 to stay well. I stopped taking the extra Cynomel tablet in the middle of January and by the start of February I was bedridden and have only just been able to get out of bed now I have reintroduced the Cynomel tablet. I have a private prescription, but have no idea if a pharamacy in Europe will be able to give these to me. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am ultra sensitive to any change in thyroid medication and was bedridden for 5 yrs before I tried T3 rather than T4. Feeling desperate as I simply cannot survive being stuck in bed. X x
Help please!!! Thyroid T3 help.: I have Graves... - Thyroid UK
Help please!!! Thyroid T3 help.
Since brexit folks are not able to use UK prescriptions abroad. There are specialist pharmacies now in the UK who are able to fulfil prescriptions for t3 at £1 per tablet.
Thank you. Do you have details of this for me please. Much appreciated. Donna. X x

Hello Sweetlittlemaya :
I too have Graves but am self medicating with Natural Desiccated Thyroid as the NHS refused me both T3 and NDT in 2018 : I too have been very unwell since RAI thyroid ablation in 2005 - in fact worse than when originally diagnosed in 2003 with Graves.
Anyway you need to log into the Thyroid UK website, their logo is printed at the top of this rolling screen, as Thyroid UK are the charity who support this amazing forum :
Within their website you will see a link to UK Pharmacies who will fulfill your private prescription of T3 - Liothyronine -
Seaside Susie , has kindly, already given you the link to the exact page within the Thyroid Uk website :
I just find the whole situation totally disgusting and to have an endocrinologist continue to under medicate a patient, just as bad as being totally denied any QOL by the NHS,
Yes, it’s totally negligent isn’t it. I have been left for 13yrs with no quality of life and wasjust given a diagnosis of ME so now no one will help me.
I am taking 90mcgs of T3 to even get out of bed, so my issue is I would not be able to afford this much liothyronine replacement each month as it’s horrifically expensive in these doses.

Have you found the link and can see where you can obtain in the UK,, prescription T3 :
I read you need to shop around - but as you quite right say, at this level we are looking at serious money to find every month.
I'm not taking T3 so have no information on where you can buy this any cheaper -
Maybe start a new post asking for T3 sources - by private message ?
