Interesting paper on vitamin D

Have just read an article about vitamin d, the gut and sleep, by Dr Stasha Gominak. I thought it was very interesting to learn how intricately everything is connected , although I knew that already, didn’t realise what a huge part vitamin d ( hormone) played. Would be interested to hear what you think.

I use to post about her a lot

Really interesting how B vitamins are intricately linked with vitamin D levels

In YouTube videos when Dr Gominak talks about vitamin D levels ...vitamin D at 40ng/ml (USA units) this is equal to 100nmol (UK units)

Interesting. She does of course have something to sell, so that might skew her perspective a bit :)

I couldn't find anything (e.g. in the FAQs) to address the fact that a small minority of people actually cannot take vit D supplements at all.

Yes...like all USA sites...there’s a strong selling aspect

I couldn’t tolerate vitamin D at all until I corrected low magnesium first

I discovered her a few years ago, thanks to a link supplied by SlowDragon , and I've been forever grateful...I had many B deficiencies, and a particularly low vitamin D level (4) and I was very ill. I was taking good advice from here, but still not quite right. I tried her protocol for my various remaining ailments, and it worked a treat for me, and solved so many problems ~ I didn't need to buy anything from her either! 😊

Seems to be a very clever, well-qualified lady that has essentially switched from allopathic medicine to a more holistic, natural approach. Lots have taken that route which speaks volumes

All other naturopaths adopt such an approach but unfortunately often get a bad press. So she may make money out of it....does it really matter if it works (which logic says it should)?

I agree...and I always find it strange when people object to any money being made from a more holistic approach to medicine and healthcare...everybody needs to make a living surely (!) and allopathic medicine providers of all persuasions often make a fortune out of Pharma meds, sometimes with dubious outcomes for the patient, yet we all happily pay into that. It seems to me we often need both, yet we are only ever steered in one direction, and anyone offering advice and help from a differing viewpoint is discredited viciously...seems an awful shame, both for us and them. It's a great pity that there couldn't be a more sensible and united approach, especially as some people can't afford to pay for tests and vitamins themselves, or remain oblivious to the real problem, and are left to suffer the consequences, as I was.

She’s smart. One doesn’t need to buy her products to try this treatment plan, so essentially, she’s sharing her knowledge in an altruistic way. Worth giving it a go. My 86 year old friend has low vitamins d and b and also has gut problems. The doctors say she has chronic illness anaemia and tend to leave it at that! Her daughter and I did some research and eventually persuaded them to treat her.
