Snake oil or possible benefits?

Hi I was wondering if anyone has had any experience or knowledge of earthing sheets. I read a article that suggested that they may be beneficial for thyroid and inflammation but wonder if anyone has tried them out.

Thanks in advance.

There have been several threads about them over the years.

As usual, some deep scepticism, and some diehard converts to them.

Have to say, I think that many in the UK live in places with significant relative humidity - for at least a lot of the year. Even the possibility of any electrical earthing effect would likely be much lower than for someone living in one of the dry desert regions of the USA, for example.

My partner is a physicist, he caught a Facebook advert for one the other day and said the process it said is behind how they work just isn't feasible. Essentially it's created by people who either don't understand physics, or who rely on the public not knowing much physics, when create and market their product.

Whether there are benefits, I can't say, but it's possible they're just placebo.

So how DO they (try to) work? I would think the second you touch a tap you have "grounded" yourself or walked through a drizzly day or walked along the edge of the sea. Well, I guess you have to be in bare feet or wet shoes for some of those. In the US we are advised to pull our electric blankets out of the electrical outlets in a thunderstorm on the small off-chance that we are lying on a lightening conductor. If the latter is true any old electric blanket is grounding you, no need to buy anything fancy (nor use it in a lightening storm!)

I have one and beyond getting a tingle in my legs the first night I slept on it I've noticed no benefit and the cotton is thick and rough, by the way

I had one too. Saw no improvement in my sleep and did not physically effect me at all.
