Hi, I’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Nov 1997, I had subtotal thyroidectomy at the same time as I had an goitre which was large.
I’ve been on different dosage of levothyroxine all depending on my levels as I have 6/12 month review on my levels which I never fully understand but have a good rapport with my GP’s surgery. I’m currently on 125mg, I’ve been on 150mg & 175mg.
My question is now that I’ve got other medical conditions which I’m taking other medications for... it’s taking a toll on my health. I’ve been told by a friend that CBD oil has been helping her to function throughout the day.. I’m cautious as I’ve never heard it’s good for those with thyroid issues??
Thanks for reading.

It's not specifically 'good for thyroid', but it does reduce aches and pains. It also helps sleep sometimes, and hypos often have trouble sleeping. It got rid of my ataxia. But, I'm still Hashi's/hypo.
Thing is with CBD oil, it needs to be taken about three times a day, for maximum effect, and at least two hours away from thyroid hormone/supplements/other medication - it needs to be four hours away from any medication that reacts with grapefruit juice. So, it can be difficult to fit in.
Well, maybe best not to reject it out of hand. I did try it for quite a while, even though I was taking a dumpster-load of supplements. I just took the whole days dose in one go, at night, and I took it with turmeric and honey because I couldn't stand the taste. I had to take 9 drops to get any effect, but I did get some effect all the same. Just probably not as much as I would have if I'd taken it properly. As I said above, it did get rid of my ataxia. So, it might be worth giving it a try on the understanding that it might not do as much for you, as it has for your friend.
Did not suit me...took whilst suffering a bad extended bout of sciatica, took it for a month, found it made me have vivid dreams, suppressed my appetite, and lacking my normal "get up and go", and had no affect on my sciatic pain. I just wonder whether it conflicts slightly with thyroid medication, which we take to keep us going.
Thanks for replying, I’m considering in forgetting about getting CBD oil as I’m already suffering with lack of energy (due my B12 next week) even when I do have my B12 jab I don’t feel any different ok maybe for a couple of weeks I can push myself to keep moving... not sleeping well due to spasms in my back & right leg and calf. I’ll just stick with the physiotherapy & the medication.
