Hi- wondering if anyone with hypothyroidism had the vaccine and by chance had a Covid Antibody test weeks later to gauge the immune response ? And, if so which vaccine.

Ive had the pfizer jab 3 weeks ago yesterday
Thanks for response. And congratulations on getting a vaccine ! We are still waiting here in Canada!! The paperwork involved states that they’re not sure whether autoimmune folks will get an immune response & we’ve got to sign etc saying you understand. I was hoping a few members that have had vaccine may have taken the Covid antibody test (3, 3+ weeks afterwards) to see if they did get a robust immune response to the vaccine. We areCertainly going to do so, if we ever do get the vaccine. You can easily get tested for Covid antibodies here..
I would imagine that hypo people do respond to the vaccine. Good to know for sure in a big group
I didnt get it because i have hypothyroidism i got the vaccine as i have Rheumatoid arthritis which is another autoimmune disease so i am on the clinally extremely vunerable group. Is your vaccines set out like ours as in age ?
Canada has struggled to get vaccines in the country period so the criteria has been a bit allOver the place. But basically yeah, long term care homes and health workers first. Over 80s will start in 3 weeks time .
Here in the UK RA is on the ‘at risk ‘ list not the clinically extremely vulnerable group. I expect in your country they had a very wide range of conditions requiring people to have shielded. It must have been a long year for you.
I am on the cev list. I have a letter from the goverment so had my jab as im under 50 as it is another autoimmune disease, i take biological treatment which puts me at risk of infection
I had not realised you had a number of conditions which put you at that level. I was well aware of some autoimmune conditions being added to the original at risk group. It did of course always include diabetes probably the best known autoimmune condition.
I do know rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition as I have it myself along with a couple of other autoimmune conditions. Clearly I was unaware you were on biological treatment with a risk of infection for that condition. I had just never heard of anyone with your condition being in the clinically extremely vulnerable group.
I mistakenly thought you were in the revised at risk category following the addition of some codditions or particularly those with multiple conditions being added to this list.
I am particularly interested that you are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable as I know a lady with a BMI of 39, serious hypertension, diabetes, stage 4 kidney disease, all listed individually as at risk. We thought she would be advised her risk was higher in light of recent changes however this has not been the case.
I can only imagine you are pretty much housebound anyway so you have my sympathy for that.
Have you seen our poll thread about Covid-19 vaccines?

I do not think it answers your question but it might nonetheless be of interest.
Wouldn't you need to have had a Covid-19 antibody test just before or at the time of the vaccination in order to make any sense of it?
Who could know they do not already have Covid-19 antibodies without a test?
Sure- if you want to be 100 certain the antibodies are from the vaccine. I think either way having demonstrable antibodies would bode well for hypo people. We have had a couple of antibody tests done over the span of pandemic . All negative , despite symptoms of Covid. Maybe it was flu.
