I think many of you have tried both, Armour, NP, Nature-Throid or Thyroid-s,...?
Which you think would work better, or is more potent. I took Nature-Throid and Thiroyd but both are no longer available.

I think Thyroid S is quite potent but everyone is different so what works for some doesn't for others.
I tried Np Thyroid and it work well and is consistent.
Thyroid s for me.
Thyroid S is what works best for me. But I haven’t been able to find any affordable since covid. The place I normally buy at more than doubled the price.
Hi, as far as I know, it can be ordered directly from the manufacturer at a good price.
As far as I know, Thyroid S is currently the most affordable of the standardised 'pill' form NDTs by strength/amount/price.
I suppose Tru Thyroid might be second as you get more pills, but my understanding is each is only half grain strength.
Most affordable of all (but its glandular not pill form) is Thyro Active. Well, as far as I'm aware that is.
Thyroid S is currently the most affordable yes, I think so, but I do not know if it's as good as the armour or np is
I haven't tried Armour or NP, but I have experimented a bit now, and my conclusion is becoming that - unless its completely ineffective ie, has no active ingredient - there isn't really such a thing as 'good' or 'better' there's 'works well for me:' or 'doesn't work as well'
Things to consider with NDT might be how much/which fillers it contains. Does it have a coating for delayed digestion or not and where it's ingredients are sourced from.
Turns out my body doesn't like the fillers in TS much. But I think it is potent and effective (my opinion).
Do you have any experience of thyro active? Is it similar/same as metavive?
I have experience trying the Bovine. But I'm going to try the porcine. My experience with the Bovine was that I could immediately really feel the effect of the T3. Felt boosted. Pulse improved. And actually it felt quite strong. Tried a 2nd pill and actually it was a mistake too strong for me too quickly. I have tried Metavive and it is not comparable (to me).
The issue with the Bovine in particular is that not everyone does well on Bovine full stop. I can't comment on the Porcine yet, but I know someone who is doing well on it.
With the glandulars it's a bit more hit and miss overall.
It is certainly worth a trial for the money, and that is why I am going to try the porcine. Because if it's effective then it is the most affordable.
Thank you Alanna 012. What was it about Metavive that was a problem for you?
Sorry meant to get back to this earlier! I found it mostly ineffective as a solo replacement for thyroid hormone. Became increasingly hypo whilst taking it. In fact my eyebrows started shedding. THAT SAID, it seems you need to take more capsules than you would ordinary levo or ndt to get the same results, and the manufacturers have apparently changed the formula recently, which some people have reacted to, and I think that was the case with me so taking twice as much capsules wasn't an option.
Certainly not declaring it ineffective for everyone, some people swear it works and have results to back it up. I will also say it did make me mentally sharper and did something, something levo alone doesn't do, just not enough of the something and it also was very variable between doses (hyper/hypo) and that was the deal breaker for me.

Thyro-Active has been mentioned several times recently. Sometimes with scathing comments suggesting it would be more accurately called Thyro-Inactive.

Hellvella, thank you. I thought it might be a new-ish product, so I certainly didn’t realise that it’s contents are questionable. I’ll save my money then and not bother wasting my time either
I’ll keep an eye out to see if there are reports of improvement but will stick with metavive for now. Even though I’m not quite getting it right
Given the poor effectiveness reported for Tru Thyroid, the price might not be as it seems. Some people have given up on it. Some have taken much more than of previous products.
Good to know!
