Hello All,
I was just wondering which brand of NDT you all are taking (for those who have chosen the natural route)? I was taking Armour (1yr of inconsistent use) but felt it didn't work for me. I've since moved to nature throid.
Kind regards

I take WP by RLC Labs, the company that also makes your Naturethroid. Took Armour for years and years until the company changed formulas and they were bought out.
Thanks for your reply Phoenix...was just reading this article (naturalendocrinesolutions.c... was surprised to learn that Armour is not free from corn! I was thinking of switching to WP as it's said to be the most hypoallergenic.
It's such a shame Armour reformulated their product, isn't it?! I was hoping for a long time that they would reconsider and go back to the old formula, but it seems they won't...I don't understand why they won't listen to all the complaints from disgruntled customers who, like you, took their product without problems for years...after all, they must have lost a lot of customers who switched to other brands after the reformulation...?
Unfortunately, something seems to have happened to Erfa as well, although the company denies any reformulation. But too many have noticed a difference in efficacy since production was moved from Belgium to Spain a few years ago.
It's really a shame when two great drugs stop working for so many.
I am taking Thyroid-S from Thailand which works very well for me. At first, I was not to happy about taking it as it contains a lot of fillers, but all the positive reviews online convinced me to give it a try...back when I switched to it, a couple of years ago, there was a UK supplier of it and that's the reason I went with Thyroid-S instead of any of the other Thai brands (intra-community shipping so no problems with customs). So far, I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. I cannot say I am crazy about all the fillers, but they don't seem to be causing me any problems. I also feel more stable on it than on Erfa which I took for a short period of time in 2015. The reason I stopped taking it was 1. it did not seem to work that great and 2. NDT is horribly expensive in Belgium, and there is no way I'd be willing to pay that much for something that is not working optimally.
Anna... I am so glad you have found something that works for you. yipeeeee !!! That is the holy grail for us, isn't it? Just something that works, doesn't cost us our firstborn and is readily available. Trouble is, it can take awhile for the planets to align and for that to happen.

WP for me too. I was on Armour but switched due to WP having less fillers
WP for me. First one I tried, switched from Nutri Thyroid when it was no longer available and so far very happy.
Metavive works for me. Was on Levo 1 year. Doing really well on it. No other ingredients just dessicated pig thyroid, and I think capsule is gelatin from memory.
Good luck with getting well.
SleepySusie,
Can I ask if you combine Metavive with other thyroid drugs, or is it enough on its own? I saw that capsules contain either 15 or 30 mg of porcine thyroid which equals 1/4 and 1/2 grain of prescription NDT. Is your impression that it's potent? How many capsules do you take a day? I saw the recommended dosage is one capsule daily which is not a lot if you have full-blown hypothyroidism, but it could be interesting combining it with other thyroid drugs for more effect.
I take only Metavive, along with a plethora of bits and minerals as suggested by this site and my functional doctor. 180mg is my dose. The doc started me on 90mg. 1 3x daily. I now take dose in one go in the morning.
I would not mix this wit other thyroid drugs.
Good luck with getting well
Vits not Bits!
I'm surprised Armour is still being manufactured as many patients have switched to other brands since it was reformulated in 2009...the company (Forest back then, don't know who manufactures it nowadays) must have lost so many customers worldwide that they can hardly make a profit on Armour, can they...?
Hi Coleen
I started my thyroid journey about 2001 on Westhroid. After that formulation changed, I switched to Naturethroid. After *that* formulation changed, I moved to WP Thyroid, which I still am on.
Although the manufacturers told me the Naturethroid formulation hadn't changed, I found I wasn't getting the same effect from it as I had in the past, which is what led me to WP Thyroid.
I find WP Thyroid the best for me as I seem to react to fillers, and WP has very few, if any, IIRC.
I got lip and mouth itching and soreness when I took levothyroxine for 3-4 months in 2010 during the supply problem with NDT. That scarcity issue still frightens me today, so I ensure I always have 6 month's supply of NDT.
I'm also well on Naturethroid. Have previously taken Armour and Erfa - can't tell the difference (except Erfa tastes nicer!).
Hi All, I have recently introduced Nutri Thyroid and adrenal and finally started loosing weight and had more energy! I’ve just gone to order and as another member mentioned Nutri have stopped making Nutri Thyroid 🤬. I’ve stumbled across this post and am now looking into Metavive as an alternative. I’m confused on the different types Metavive I, II or III can anyone please explain and as this post is old if you still use? I’m so fed up I’ve got to restart all this after just feeling well again so any help would be much appreciated. I’m based in the U.K. thanks in advance Abi x
