Hi

After almost two decades I’ve recently learnt through private blood testing results that I have Hashimoto’s; reading up on this condition has made me feel rather sad. I’ll be 60 later this year and to think I’m only just slowly making changes to my meds after being on a 50mcg starter dose having always fallen into the GP’s not so ‘normal’ range!

However, I am developing an insatiable appetite to learn and change to help manage this as best I can!

I was thinking of purchasing Hashimoto’s Protocol by Isabella Wentz and possibly a recipe book too, I thought it would be a good idea to ask the knowledgable people on this site for their thoughts on this or other recommendations?

Thank you in advance 🦋

That's a good choice! You may want to join a forum on Fb called Hashimoto's under construction (the best around) and Aip in the UK

Hi, I recently got tests for allergens and allergy markers. That is how I discovered I was Autoimmune Thyroid. Changed my diet straight away based on allergy results, improving every day. So much we can do to help ourselves, once we know what the issues are. Best of luck x

That’s great to hear thank you for sharing and something I’m sure I will consider on my journey 👏 incidentally which test did you choose? X

I had 200 main allergens and food sensitivities. Allergens and intolerances. Some surprising results. Was able to adapt my diet to calm down my immune system. Blood test privately done. Finger prick blood test at home. Cheaper and convenient. Hope to eventually go back to some of the foods in time. Some of the best money I ever spent, I have to say. All without GP, although I do tell them what I am doing. If I had not taken control of my own health I would be in a mess right now. This site has been invaluable for me. Good luck with your journey. x
