Interested in being part of a book?

I am working as a ghostwriter with a married mom, Dana Jurcove, from Slovakia with two young kids. After being diagnosed with hypothyroid at 13, being put on traditional medications and flowing along a typical stress filled over-worked lifestyle for years her body collapsed in her mid twenties. (I myself am dealing with ulcerative colitis). Thru changes in lifestyle, diet, and homeopathic traditions she was able to recover and has been living symptom free for over 7 years.

Dana has done years of research and wants to write an ebook with a step-by-step guide on how to recover. We are looking for 6 people’s stories from around the world. People who have managed to overcome their hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s or live without a thyroid gland. We want to show living examples of success. We plan to translate this book into as many languages as possible so everyone can have access to a natural way of healing. Please contact me if you’d like to share your story.

Thank you!

Sorry, I am a bit lost with this..... What do you mean about people who live without a thyroid gland? You cannot live without the gland unless you replace the hormones which it makes. Is your book about people who live without medication?

Many of us have worked out how to live with hashimotos, which causes hypothyroidism but we take replacement hormones as our thyroids have shrivelled away to nothing.

Can you explain further please.

Hello G, thanks for responding. Yes we're looking for people who are living successfully (without signs of illness of symptoms) of this condition. Meaning you have found some way thru lifestyle choices, alternative healing methods ( yes without medications) to live a productive and basically healthy life. That is what my partner did-- she as diagnosed at 13 with hypothyroidism. And it wasn't until she was her late twenties did you find a homeopathic dr. who helped her heal. She has been off medications for 7 years now.

We know everyone situation is completely different. So people manage fine on meds, others don't. We're just looking to offer some alternatives.

Hope that helps!

thanks

Personally, I have had regular acupuncture weekly over several years, chinese herbs, cranial osteopathy, shiatsu,a complete change of diet i.e. no wheat, gluten, dairy, alcohol for many years….but still I could not survive without armour thyroid. All the above practitioners have said that it would be impossible for me to live without the medication. Initially, after diagnosis, I tried to heal myself with the acupuncture and herbs, but it didn't work!!!! I have not tried homeopathy. Perhaps if one tries at a young age with such treatment it will work. However many of us on here wait years and years before we are diagnosed.

Hi--you sound like a good story to me. If medication is part of the plan and not making you sicker than that sounds great. Apparently for some people they can't tolerate it and just get worse. But it sounds like you have found a perfect combination. I too have to use east & west traditions to keep my situation in check (colitis). If you'd like to share your story, please let me know. We're currently working on a list of questions we can submit to each interested party. You can reach me at tara1008@yahoo.com or if you'd prefer to communicate thru Facebok let me know too :)

Thank you!

It sounds interesting. I'm recovering from having thyroid cancer and part of my thyroid removed and would like more info about your project. You can pm me but I am going on holiday tomorrow for a weeks so probably won't be able to reply for a little while.

I'm not living without signs or symptoms of thyroid illness, so I'm not sure if I can be of any help for the book. I'll give it some more thought and let you know.

In that case I suspect you may be looking for people who have a working thyroid but their hypothyroidism is caused by inability to convert t4 to t3, or an inability to use the t3. People who have no working thyroid have to take hormone replacement. Without it you simply cannot survive.
