I’m considering trying NDT for the first time. I have been taking glandulars over the years to treat my hypothyroidism. I’ve used Nutri thyroid, thyrogold and now metavive. My question is if my body is already used to some T3 in these do I have to start very low like someone changing over from thyroxine ? Also if someone has had NDT in the past but then gone onto a glandular do they start low all over again and increase slowly ?

Starting NDT from a glandular
It is usual for us, when swapping thyroid hormones, to take an equivalent dose. If your body feels dose is a bit too much, reduce slightly.
Thanks @shaws does this include the glandular. I was taking about 30 mg of T3 in the product according to the manufacturers.
@shaws Thankyou for some reason without a gap your name won’t turn blue though
I’ve been on LDN for awhile as well as NDT and frankly don’t think it has made a difference at all. Just an extra expense.
What’s LDN ?
LDN = Low Dose Naltrexone
Abbreviations and Acronyms
Some years ago, I started compiling a list of many of the abbreviations and acronyms that appear on the Thyroid UK forum ( healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/ ) regularly. The idea was to make it relatively quick and easy to look up abbreviations and acronyms without being waylaid by the many irrelevant possibilities that web searches tend to return.
I continue to update the document quite frequently!
