Large nodules.

Hello I Have several nodules 2 measuring over 3 cm. My lab work are always with in normal range. I had one FNA of my left lobe a small calcified nodule came back benign. My question is do anyone have nodules that large and because of them have your thyroid removed? I'm now starting to experience some throat pain that radiates up to my inner ears. Took another ultra sound scan to see if any growth has occurred or additional nodules found. Since my last ultrasound back in 2019.

Normally surgery is done if found suspicious or causing structural type problem, ie affecting your breathing, swallowing, voice or growing restosternally.

I have a solitary 5cm nodule which is hyper-functioning but I have been on anti thyroid to manage it. Surgery has not been offered.

Also, don’t trust results are always “in range” often full function is not checked.

What results have you had? Can you share on here?
