Best and easiest diet Hashimoto's

Hi All, Can anyone help me I'm not doing very good trying to help myself diet wise I always end up failing which is the best diet and the easiest to plan n prepare so that I can give it a good go n stick to it Im still not good in myself low energy low moods up n down like a yo yo I keep putting it down to my Meds Levothoroxine but maybe it's my diet I cut out gluten but still eating some dairy haven't a clue now it got to the point I have no proper diet just snacking now I'm getting over covid atm haven't been ill but have been quite unwell very run down so now I must think positive and get real food in my body I'm running on empty now no energy at all take super b complex vit d3 b12 injections all vits seemed good on last blood test hope someone can advise me Thank You

There is no special diet for Hashi's. Just eat good clean food: plenty of protein and fresh fruit and veg, plenty of good fat - coconut oil, olive oil, butter, nuts, etc. - not too much fibre, some carbs and avoid all forms of soy, artificial sweeteners and processed seeds oils. And that's about all, really. :)

How easy is that i thought it was harder but remain gluten free still? So I can have dairy ?

If being gluten-free is helping with your symptoms, then it's best to stay gluten-free. How long have you been doing that?

You can have dairy if it agrees with you, if you're not lactose-intolerent or something. It's not obligatory to be dairy free. :)

I dont know I just thought going gluten n dairy free lowers high antibodies due to Hashi and I would feel better

Lowering antibodies won't make you feel better, because they have nothing to do with anything. They are just a marker for Hashi's, that's all. They don't cause symptoms. And, I rather doubt Gluten-/dairy-free diets would lower them, anyway. And even if they did, you'd still have Hashi's.

That said, a lot of Hashi's people are gluten-intolerent, so cutting that out of their diets does make them feel better. And, you wouldn't necessarily know you were gluten intolerent without trying a gluten-free diet. Daily on the other hand, most people know if they don't tolerate it well.

Wow great information greygoose ! I did not know that eating gluten will not change my antibodies! I’m sad to hear that. Is there anything that I can do to lower my antibodies?

Oh I see well even before I got covid I was struggling with very low energy low moods lost interest in things like having depression but I knew I wasnt depressed like something is causing these symptoms I thought in the end after 5 years on Levo I wasnt getting or feeling any better I do actually think Levo isnt doing me any good though

To know that, we'd have to see your lab test results: TSH, FT4, FT3. It's possible that you don't convert very well. How much levo are you taking?

Hi greygoose I seem to convert okay my t4 is always just under top of range t3 is the same nearly top of range but always tsh supressed which I'm told is okay this lack of motivation n lack of energy body aches is horrible thats why I think it's the Levo never felt good on it

If your Frees are top of the range, then TSH is bound to be suppressed. And it's suppressed for a good reason: the pituitary is happy with the amount of thyroid hormone you have in the blood. So, you don't need TSH anymore. If one of them starts to drop, your TSH should rise.

I'm not sure levo causes body aches and lack of motivation. How are your nutrients? Cortisol?

Cortisal hasnt been tested since 2015 my ferritin shot up from 88 to 180 without supplements never experienced that before folate was about 18 vit d was very good over 100 b12 I self inject I was really surprised when I caught the virus I wasnt worse so I can count myself very lucky but still have got some effects from it Thank you for your replies I do appreciate your advice..

Do you happen to know what your inflammation levels were at that time? Because high levels of inflammation can cause ferritin to rise.

I dont know all I know is all the time i was trying to bring up my ferritin levels it to ages to get it to 88 with supplements no supplements it kept rising I cant think of anything off hand of inflammation only that my estrophiles or neutrophils always were flagged up hope I spelt those right?

I have no idea if you spelt them right! lol Spelling is not my thing.

Do you know if you had your CRP tested? That is a marker for inflammation.
