I’ve just started using pregnenolone to address low testosterone and progesterone issues.
Having just had one of my “moments” (sudden anxiety, shakes, cold, tiredness, racing heart), it’s spurred me into posting what I had forgotten to weeks ago!
Is there anything I should look out for? Will it negatively affect my absorption or use of thyroid meds? Or positively for that matter?
I’m thinking maybe it’s affecting my cortisol hence this flakey moment in which case it might be the shortest trial ever!

Its not uncommon for hashimoto’s patients to have low testosterone- i myself have low testosterone and am on the border of supplementing it. Im at ‘that age’ too and probably peri menopausal. Im on mini pill so progesterone only. Oestrogen makes thyroid problems worse so avoid combined pills. I think taking testosterone if you’re under should help if anything. My consultant was thinking about supplementing me so can’t be bad for under active thyroid.
Hmm. This was my concern with the preg and I’ve been debating about it for so long. I suspect my feeling off the last few days is the increase in estrogen which I quite clearly have enough of already!
I’m thinking I’ll go back to supplementing the progesterone and testosterone only... my gut feeling in the first place 🙄
You can't tell which hormones pregnenolone will increase, so there's no way to know if it will work for you until you've tried it. I'd always try taking the actual low hormone first and only drop back to one of the precursors if it doesn't work - eg I take DHEA as taking testosterone directly gives me 'roid rage, but DHEA seems to increase testosterone without that side effect.
