Good morning

I recently received my medichecks results and would appreciate thoughts pls.

TSH 0.005 (0.27-4.2)

T3 4.87 (3.1-6.8)

T4 23 ( 12-22)

I am on 12.5 T3 and 125 T4. I did the test at 1 pm not having taken medication since the previous morning at 6am (ie for 31 hrs).

I am thinking that I should reduce T4 to 100? Historically I don’t convert and has T3 below when I was on T4 only. I also think that the T3 is probably higher with such a long gap before the last dose.

Everything else was good and mid to top end of range so I was happy.

Any advice appreciated.

Jacqui

Was there a reason you didn't do an early morning test and only leave 24 hours since last dose of Levo and 8-12 hours since last dose of T3, that would have given you a much more accurate picture.

Do you take a B Complex or Biotin supplement, and if so did you leave it off for 7 days before the test?

As you have a false low result for both FT4 and FT3 then yes, I agree that a reduction in Levo is worth trying, but I'd go 12.5mcg rather than 25mcg, retest 8 weeks later to check your levels and see how you feel.

Last 6.25mcg of T3 should be 8-12 hours before test.....so yes the Ft3 is likely higher than test shows

When did you last test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Thanks for replies. I did mess up the testing I am aware. I was waiting on medichecks to arrive to take blood.

I don’t take any B complex. My Vit D is always low. I got it up to 88 with 3000. Then I upped up 6000 and go it to 118 on this test. So put it back to 4000 now to try to keep over 100 but not go too high!

Folate is a steady 9.64 - always around the 10 mark on medichecks. Same with B12 - always around 100. 107 this time.

I had issues with ferritin and posted about this previously. Followed some very helpful advice and have gone from 26.1 to 43.8.

In terms of how I feel this is a tough one. I always feel on the tired side as I am a single parent and a headteacher. So I am always looking to be on top of the game with what I take to support my health. If anything I started sleeping badly and needed some extra chiropractic adjustments which I link (rightly or wrongly) to too much thyroxine. I also think I am Peru memo. I’m 49 and FSH rising.

I eat an extremely healthy diet, walk daily and don’t drink alcohol or tea. Two coffees a week.

I think I will go to 100 and take an extra 25 every three days?

Thanks again for replying to my post.

Jacqui 😀
