Nature Throid from international online pharmacy

I have moved to France from 4 years in Croatia. My new doctor

informs me it is illegal to give me prescription for my desiccated thyroid medication, Nature-throid. I've searched online for international pharmacies,

but evidently NT has been taken off the market in many countries. I may have to fly to the states to get my NT, which as a reoccurring breast cancer survivor, senior, and no exposure /immunity to the virus will be a huge risk. I hope someone on this chat knows of a viable solution. Thank you so much!

morganrose, Nature-Throid and WP Thyroid were recalled by manufacturers RLC Labs due to potency problems a few weeks ago now. As far as I'm aware, none of the usual online suppliers will be able to supply you, and I doubt you would be able to find any in the US either even if you were able to get there.

Red Apple, thanks for this input. I am still able to get NT through my doc's prescription to a compound pharmacy in Nevada. Just dreading going back to the states.

You can get Armour Thyroid in the States. I have never had a problem getting it prescribed, even after moving to Puerto Rico which is a territory not a state.

My dread is if the recount goes in Biden’s favour, he will push to implement single payer health care and we will end up in the same boat as the UK and Europe, either unable to get it or having to do battle to get it as I have read so many people on this forum having to do.

Unfortunately for you, desiccated thyroid is actually illegal in France.

Worse, it is illegal to get it sent to you.

I don´t know where in France you live, but NDT is prescribed by some doctors in Belgium where it is legal and available from some pharmacies. But, only Armour and Erfa are available there. Maybe that could be an alternative if you couldn´t find Naturethroid?

What a great thread we have going! Thank you all for your input. I am investigating desiccated meds in Belgium. If that doesn't pan out, I'm waiting on my US physician's answer as to if he can access NT. If so, I risk flying to the US with vulnerabilities of a medical history of reoccurring breast cancer, plus being a senior, plus no exposure to the virus. This will be a decision I will weigh on all counts. The four years I lived in Croatia, my doctor would write me his prescription for both Nature-throid AND medical cannabis, and one hour later I was at the pharmacy to pick up both! Who would ever believe that CROATIA is more conscious and progressive for their citizens' health than France!!! Like you, I find such risks insane with all the medical research in support of our medication of choice in #$%^** 2020!

The good news is that Pfizer has applied to the FDA for emergency approval to distribute their COVID-19 vaccine, which has proved 95% effective. Not sure where all they will distribute it, though, I assume because FDA is the US government body that regulates medicines, the US is first. You might check whether they will be getting approval in France.
