Please help deciphering my results? Not quite sure what to make of high TSH / low RT3. Antibodies.

Currently taking 65mg Nature Throid. (I didn’t take med before blood draw)

I currently take high doses of D3 to ward off covid so could lower the dose.

Not sure about the cholesterol as I’m 80/20 paleo with two big fasting windows a week! (But the vino has been flowing a bit too much lately!)

Thankyou in advance

High TSH and low T4&T3 suggest you're still very under-medicated.

High cholesterol also a symptom of undermedication.

Vitamin D is very high.

Taking too much vitamin D is not a good idea

The high antibodies simply means that they are attacking your thyroid causing it to struggle to produce sufficient hormones hence high TSH low FT4. Some people report altering their diets to gluen & dairy free reduces autoimmune attacks on their thyroid. You need an increase in thyroid medication and then reviewing in 6-8 weeks after blood tests. The abnormal chlesterol levels will settle once on the optimal dose of thyroid hormones.

I would stop any vitD supplement as your blood tests shows levels are too high.

The antibodies do not attack - at least, not in the way I think of "attack".

It is lymphocytes which attack, damage the thyroid cells, allow the contents of the cells and the follicles to spill out into the bloodstream. It is the presence of thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin in the blood which our immune systems detect and clean up - by producing antibodies.

We have been indoctrinated to believe that ‘high’ cholesterol is a problem; studies show that it is not - those with ‘high’ cholesterol tend to live longest.

I think that it depends how high. Mine was in the teens before I was diagnosed and it came down with taking levo. I didn’t change anything in my diet. Jo. Xx

I understand that diet has very little effect on cholesterol levels but treating hypothyroidism does.

This article, and the graphs in particular, are very helpful and reassuring about cholesterol I think :
