High T3 levels

Just a bit of advice please. I have just received my blood results from my Endocrinologist .

T4 - 20 (9-23)

T3 6.6 ( 3.5-6.5 )

TSH 0.05

He has suggested I stay on the same dose, I’m taking 12.5 T3 in split doses, but I’m having real problems with unexplained pain and am worried it’s because of my T3 being too high, someone previously commented that my levels were very high for the amount I take, last results in June were, T4 was 23 and T3 6 TSH 0.05 . I did mention this to him about the pain and he has prescribed calcium and D3 on prescription based on my DEXA results he said the scan results showed my spine had lost 5.6% bone density and my hips 6.5% (it’s 7 years since my last scan ) very nervous of taking it, I supplement D3 with K2 and my last results in March we’re 88 nail/L (50.0 -99999.0) he said my serum calcium are within normal range in these latest result , so I’m very confused ?

Thank you in advance x

I don't think your T3 is 'too high'. I take mine once daily when I get up. Dr John Lowe, an expert in the use of T3 recommended a once a day dose (his dose was 150mcg T3 daily - taken in the middle of the night so that nothing interfered with the uptake).

He was 'thyroid hormone resistant' and people who are resistant need larger doses than others who don't, in order to relieve symptoms..

Thank you Shaws , I take my T4/T3 at 6.30 am and the second dose at 4.30 pm so avoid food and drink for 2 hours before and I hour after but it is a nuisance ,maybe my body might process in one dose, how do you know if your resistance?

I don't think I'm 'resistant' as I take a normal dose of T3 (25mcg), whereas Dr Lowe took 150mcg. So a big difference.

You can gradually increase your dose and if you felt 'overdosed' you reduce to previous dose.

If you were to omit some of that T3 for a few days and you have some relief from symptoms it might give you an answer. You'd have to cut it into quarters and only take three of those. You'd be shorting yourself 6.25 each day, however if you felt better then you could decrease by a few micrograms, however you might have to get the 5mcg or 10mcg strength.s Some people might feel better on the top end or maybe just slightly below the top of the range. Sounds like it's trial and error for you to find out what's causing the pain.

you are a little overmedicated. Dr should reduce and retest in 4 weeks.
